Re: (NerveAgent)
awesome project
I looked into this before my current car but there was a lot of custom work to get the f20c into the ae86 and just as hard to find an inexpensive ae86 chassis here in the northeast U.S. thats not rusted out. too bad the steering rack is farther back than the crossmember but evidently its still a viable project. good luck man, its gonna be hella fun when you get it up and running!
WOW that f20c powered white 510 is just beautiful!!!!!!!!!!
aaaaaargh!!!!!

no problem man. however, the engine bay won't look like that much longer.
i just picked up a twm 52mm kit for it, getting a custom header built and a cage as well along with some interior work. i'll get some updated pictures pretty soon because these are about a year old.

I gotta admit that's probably one of the cleanest engine bay I've ever seen. Now I have something to aim for. =P

Well my F20 arrived at the weekend.
All being well the car should go off to my buddy who is doing the transmission tunel and front crossmember mods this weekend.
My garage is pretty full of parts right now - will be nice to get them off the garage floor and onto the car.

Re: (Ian.G)
Ian, thats going to be such a fun car to drive, the F20C motor and its super smooth tranny will just be th eicing on the cake for the AE86 chassis... what a wicked cool project
...the guy I just bought an S13 240sx was selling it because he finally found a Datsun 510, his dream car, and those are really damn cool, it has a '72 4banger with big ol' carbs on it... very cool.

Yup - its an AE86
easier to see from this angle...
This was when my 'ITB'd 4AGE screamer didn't have destoryed crank and rod bearings

Re: (DunkHunter)
shell is now stripped of brake, clutch and fuel system (including tank), and pedals, steering column etc.
now I have to wait for my fabrication man to take the car on the 3rd of March.
in the meantime I can be planning all my new brake lines (including bias adjuster and upright hydraulic handbrake) fuel system (including new alu tank, lift pump, swirl pot, main pump, fuel lines etc.) and pre-drill all the holes in the shell before the engine bay and interior are repainted after the engine is in.
Its gonna be a long wait till march - hopefully I will be able to drive again before the summer is out.
