Lowered S question
So i fit my wheels the other day, and im getting a LOT of rubbing, front and back. The rear is rubbing down the inside of my bumper, and has completly messed up the mounting bracket, and the fronts, since they've been rolled, the fender liner hangs a little, and since they're kinda bulky along the outside, it rubs. Wondering what you guys do to prevent rubbing

Re: Lowered S question
Only a genius like me can figure this out. This hasn't been covered before by everyone.
Check it out. I developed this new method. It involves putting an inward tilt on the top of your tire to clear things. It will translate into a measurable angle. I'm calling it "negative camber". You can also change settings of how the tire points side to side to clear the bumper tab. I'm calling it "toe adjustment". Together, with another CRRRAAAZY motha-angle that I like to call "caster", they form an "alignment". Also, I've pioneered the invention of skinnier tires. Or rolling the fender. Or relocating the bumper tab. All things that before today have never been bestowed upon anyone. There's another less used method of "raising the car up". Or "Using stiffer suspension settings" to control movement. It's all in it's infant stages. Nobody uses any of it yet. It's gonna be BIG though. They're going to do internet writeups and stuff. It's gonna be crazy. Infact, I believe there will be an entire culture and subforum dedicated to tire/wheel fitment on S2000s. This hasn't happened yet, obviously. Because it's only 2011. |

They are rolled, and I'm running negative camber already, how can you adjust caster when it's not adjustable? And not wanting to run any toe, I don't like buying new tires every few weeks. I've already relocated rear bumper tab. Got any "new" ideas for the front? Remove fender liners?
Go widebody then hit vtec |

for the fender liners, you gotta be kidding dude.. it's a piece of rubber, use a ziptie and thread it through then hang it higher. It perplexes me as to why you would run a wheel/tire combo that you had no idea about. Roll your fenders flat, then cut off the edge. After cutting the edge, roll it flat or into a bead roll. Relocate the tab out of the way, cut whatever else is in the way. run negative camber and get better suspension. or better yet, get some legit wheels in the right offset instead of whatever those are. |

My guess is he's running shit for suspension.....

2.)S2000s come with a pretty good amount of factory toe in...which is why rear tires wear down in 2 miles or less. You straighten out the toe. That way, youre not rubbing the back part of the tire. Plus less tire wear ;). 3.) caster is adjustable. But it won't affect straight line rubbing. I pity the foo who thinks caster isn't adjustable. 4.) The front fender tabs can be cut off. You slice off the very outer portion of fener liner or let the tire wear thru it. Easy. 5.) Your question was so vague. What suspension are u on? What sized wheels/tires? Where is it rubbing? How big were her bewbz? What are your current alignment settings? Cmon dude. Help us help you. |

Moderator can close this, i just get shit on for asking a question. I guess everyone on here is a f*ckin expert at everything and its stupid for anyone to ever ask. I guess you were born with this knowledge and never had to experiment or ask someone else who achieved the goals you were trying to get at... |

don't be a smartass and you won't get "shit on". And yeah, everyone's an expert or we search until our wits' end before we ask expecting to be spoonfed an answer. Guess what, you're not running an innovative size/spec, it's been done before. |

Brand new Buddy Club N+, pretty shitty compared to most i guess since you guys are probably all ballers, these wheels came off my FD, fronts are 17x8 +35 and the rears are 17x9 +38.

You should also try searching around a little bit next time. A google search would have answered your question. Nobody wants to type out the same stuff over and over again. Wheel/tire fitment really is just a touch and go kinda thing. Make it fit. Everyone's setup, driving style, and driving environment is different. You ask "what do I do to make my shit not rub" without really any details about anything. Making the tires not rub is probably easier than making a post. Go outside. Either find a wrench or find someone who knows how to use a wrench. Go at it till it fits. Bam. You're an expert. Good luck with the wheel fitment. |
