+42 isn't what I would call silly high...wing isn't silly either, its extremely effective aero. ap1's are know to be tail happy, on 255 square setup that issue is exaggerated. the wing keeps the rear in check.

this car is anything but a daily....this is a trackcar/weekend cruiser but I want to keep the build very mild for reliability issues. basically tired of fixing **** constantly between sessions like with the boosted civic. I really wanted something that could out perform my civic, which I did by 4 seconds this past weekend on a almost stock ap1

Lol I know, fuark'n router was drifting hella far lefter than I anticipated. Pulled it up and turns out the bearing was riding on a deeper surface than predicted. Used a spacer as a stencil and just grinded off what I needed. I'll go back and clean it up when I get the right size bearing for the router job.

I run 245/40/17 squared all around without aero.. doesn't seem that bad, at least to me.

there's other ways to balance her out/wings only work at speeds. don't get me wrong I'm a big fan of aero esp when it's purposeful but the car should feel neutral without it.

I run 255 square no aero.

im friends with lots of track guys...I wanted something less racecar than my civic...I was spending more time fixing **** at the track than time racing...not to mention heat issues caused me to cut sessions down to 12-14 min, 5 of which was a warm up and cool down lap..

I wanted something that would perform just as well if not better than my civic but need far less maintenance....s2k fit the bill...tires every 2years(maybe 1.5) brakes once a year, oil changes a couple times a year... its great. not to mention premium is relatively cheap compared to the civics 110, need for a trailer and tow rig...I can keep going

I did my homework, yeah I could have went out and learned the stock ap1...but, the car came on works, I wasnt about to track them, let alone 18s being less than desirable. so I needed to buy a set of track wheels... talking around square seemed to be the way to go if your going to get serious tracking the car. so I set off into getting a square setup and all that comes with it. with a 255 up front the s2k has tons of grip, it is naturally going to loosen the back up.

I could have removed the rear bar... I could have used a Miata nc rear and something beefier like whiteline up front, choosing this route I should probably up my front spring rates also

point im getting at is that there is more than one way to skin a cat ... I personally love the look of a s2k with a wing. it just so happened to lend itself very well to the setup I planned to run.

after my first track weekend I will say the *** end is loose. I lost it 3 times, one pretty good and ended up in the sand and had to be pulled out. im very happy with the balance of the car right now. I plan to add some stainless lines as I didn't have time before the event, lower seats are a must (again didn't have time to install) and I plan on upgrading to swift springs, the neuspeeds that came on the car are too soft, I don't like the feel and have too much roll

**** springs get coilovers, and now that your square you can get rates that are preferable. all aftermarket spring kits are still catered to staggered not to mention too soft for serious tracking.

Also roll is directly related to your bars not spring rates. you can run an 18k on each corner and still roll like a bitch with the stock bars.

Not so sure a wing will cure that...but good luck!

Honestly coilovers arent in the budget right now or i would...all i know is these neuspeed springs might be cool for a drop and cushy for that daily driving but are way to soft for tracking....from my research swift makes a performance not style based spring that is supposed to improve handling over stock at the cost of some comfort.

When i go coilover i plan to save up for something pretty good.

As for the wing its highly functional and i like it.

have you tried contacting eibach for their recommendation for springs for the stock shocks?

I remember i got my KW V3's for $1200 used. They were hands down the best suspension i've ever felt in an s2000 for the price. Check s2ki for a used set... or save up for some club sports or ohlins road & tracks

Like i said i dont have the budget for coilovers for next season....unless i trip and fall into some money. 2016 maybe.swift spings are cheap enough and do give some performance gains. I could look into custom eibachs as i get a good discount through my parts guy....

As of now i plan to save for some kw v3....not cheap though and will take time to save for

+1 on the ohlins the price dropped on them and I'm very intrigued. Might have to sell the teins and pick them up. After I get the motor of course.

tein flex for 50k( 20k+ from me, 30+ from last owner) still pretty peppy.

so with that info the swift seems to be the most aggressive, and they seem to have a very good reputation with the track guys....from what I recall the guy who won the wmhm s2k time attack battle was on swift/stock shock combo

no one is saying swift springs are bad

only point that was being made was coilovers>springs in money and performance.

tbh the only mod you really need to do in order to be faster is driver mod I'm not saying your a bad driver but there's a **** ton to learn about this car on the track b4 mods get thrown on and are used to their full potential. many people do the opposite me included.

Yeah....i fully agree. Driver mod needed. It had these neuspeeds on it when i bought it. I like the drop but want something that will improve the cars handling, not hurt it. For a few hundred buck...cheap enough to justify the cost.

Other than that its the seats and rails i already own as my head is above roofline and need to be lower to be safe. Buy extra set or rotors because aparently s2k are natorious for cracking rotors...maybe diy ducting... and toss on stainless lines to finish out the brakes for safety

Rest is all driver mods
