You plan on dynoing before and after? Would nice to see if these actaully do anything for you.

GDM S2K 03-27-2007 04:19 PM

Re: (GEN2TEG)

Yes were planning on dynoing with the stock cams first than throwing these in and getting some numbers. Again they are NA cams so hopefully we will see results!

notes on the car-
Buit motor
lovefabgt1
t72 turbonetics BB
4 inch DP

Sweet. Keep us updated for sure.

Curiouz_G 03-27-2007 06:26 PM

wait wait wait, on your notes it says love fab gt1 turbo kit... and your going to install stage 2 N/A cams?

Subscribing to this...

Interested to see if these cams will make power or not. General consensus is that cams don't make power for the S2K, but i just don't think anyone has applied them the right way. That means minimum i/h/e + ecu tuning + cam gears.

Re: (iam7head)

Yes NA cams, skunk was telling me on a High HP app the turbo cams are staying open to long, they said it would be ideal for a low HP car around 400 ish. the NA cams should provide us with the lift we need to make power in the higher HP apps

I was thinking it'd be opposite. There's not as much difference between N/A and turbo cams in lift as is it in overlap. You would want less overlap in a turbo car, no?

GDM S2K 03-28-2007 08:41 AM

Re: (Mr. Projekt)

Yes thats where cam gears would come into play to dial out the overlap, I brought it up to them and they said I wouldnt have alot of overlap and shouldnt cause a problem

Re: (Black S2K)

why would you guys all surprised if hes putting "N/A" cam on boosted car? rofl

the stock OEM one works with boost right? lol... so the "N/A" cam should work just fine even if its boosted... just more lift than the stock one.. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif

Mr. Projekt 03-28-2007 08:45 AM

Re: (GDM S2K)

Overlap can only be changed so much when you have the long duration and high lift cams; with anything more than a 270 duration you're going to overlap at one end of the revolution or the other. Increased lift would aggravate valve float, but you already thought of that? https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif

I'm not saying their recommendations are wrong, or bad, but you should look more into it before putting out the kind of money that this project would require.

Re: (Mr. Projekt)

When I decide to put these in were going to do everything by the book, Make a jig for the head to simulate Vtec, check all clearances and clay the motor.

I understand its a big project and being the guinea pig isnt always good. Hopefully these cams will perform and give everyone an alternative to stock cams

should be going in next week

wanna see numbers!

Re: (GDM S2K)

Here's what I'm talking about. Why did you get the N/A cams for a boosted car when they made 2 Turbo applications?

Did you notice there's OVER TWENTY F*CKIN DEGREES of difference in duration between the N/A and turbo? I wonder why?
