Full-Race 1000 mile turbo S200 review

Man this bites. I can't even get into my old account so here is my new name. I was FRXTC@9K.

Hi all,

IT is at the 1000 mark that I wanted to give my initial review. I will make another review at the 5k mark after this one.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
They shouldn't have sent the car with C16. That was like teasing me with a piece of candy. The car was so much fun that I am in the process of buying two barrels to have in the garage. I put 130 miles of the 1000 with the C16 and at 28.8psi. The car has been ran at 11.4 to 13.3 for this first 1000 miles with no track days or long periods of time under boost. Just some on off freeway and a couple encounters. Now to the honest part. I don't want to misslead anyone so here goes.

PROBLEMS NOT REALLY BUT SHOULD BE MENTIONED
1.There was the two bolts on the bottom of the transmission missing. Easy replacement. Full-Race was to send me out replacements but I said no and got them locally. No problems.
2.The winshield washer elbow was melted on the passenger side along with the washer fluid cap. Since replacing those items I have not had any issues since.
3.The auto window down and whiper delay has not functioned since the car returned. I figure this is something simple since nothing that they would have touched for the AEM should be affected but I thought to mention it anyway.
4.The passenger underpanel was broke. Full-Race replaced no questions asked.
5.The SRS light is on and won't go away so I gotta take it in for that. Full-Race has offered to take care of this for me.
6.I can't think of anything else that would be at all related to them. I have a rattle in the dash that is coming from where the passenger side airbag is and maybe think this whole SRS thing maybe related to that. There was a vac hose that came off and was cracked. I had to change the spark plugs at 1000 miles. I should have done this at 500-700. Otherwise nothing to report so far.

SOME HISTORY
They had the car for over 1 year because of it going to SEMA 05 and other changes I made. So it wasn't their fault. From the time I said go they finished the car with a built motor, head, custom turbo manifold with two wastegates, and a bunch of other things (rear pumpkin, diff, LSD) was done in 5 months. I was very pleased.

HOW THE CAR DRIVES NOW
The car was tuned by Tony from T1racingdevelopment out of Texas with the AEM. The car has ran flawless so far. Good power, fast spool, and good powerband.

THINGS STILL TO DO
I added a hood gap of one inch just to help with cooling. I still need to replace the factory radiator but have not had high water temps. No extra vibrations or anything overheating at this time. You will notice that I have some fiberglass wrap in the passenger corner just to help but none of that is hot to the touch when you shut off the car and reach in to touch it. The Vtec solenoid is only warm to the touch. Wider tires. Sometime in spring I will get my tires and put on the Jline wheels. I will need to put wider rear fenders on and am not sure what to get yet.

FINAL

Overall. I give it an A+. I got the car back with no problems (as of yet...Knock on wood...) and have had a blast driving the car with what has been left of sunny weather. IF you want a turbo kit and have all the bling to go with it this is the way to go. There is no slouching on this one and I got what I paid for and then some. Thanks to all those at Full-Race and associated in this build. It was more than worth the wait and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

So add any questions and comments and answer what I can. Here are some pics.

This is oil left from my truck. I crapped my pants the first time I looked so I put down some cardboard and then noticed under my truck outside had the same mark.

wow amazing vehicle. It was a nice read too. I think s2000 look so slick it's sick. i hope to own one in the near future. How much hp did it make? My friend has a m3 fully built up that meet up with a guy in chicago that owned a turbo s2k. They went cruising on the highway with a cobra(04) and a 04 vette(zo6). He said the s2k would walk on everyone in the pack No PROblem. However, after talking with the guy he said he rarly drives it because its soo loud, is your super loud?

*shits pants*

Looks good man... Who put it together? What turbo?

And on a side note.. you can't go wrong with having Tony(Tony1) tune your car. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

I left power out of the equation. The temps were high in the 130's in the shop and hp varied 80-100 on some of the pulls. Well into the 650 range is easy to say. I expect more when I crank up the boost to 32 or so and get it back on the dyno.

Agent Zero
Full-Race put the entire car together. They went through their great engine sources to have the best build the motor (ERL Performance and head (HeadGames Motorworks). They used a Greddy upgraded GT35R. I would recommend these guys for anything. If I can talk the wife into a second project I would love for them to convert a 240 to the R14.

It is a solid motor brace that was made by Full-Race for me. It works nicely and they did a great job on putting it together.

It wasn't so much the forgetting the password as my new email doesn't expect the pasword forget email back. Now that sucks. The system to help you when you forget works and your email carrier blocks the incoming email. Yuck.

Here is a low boost teaser. This was me against a SVT lightning. This was at only 11.4psi. http://vids.myspace.com/index....44955

I also raced my friend in a 240coupe with a SR red top (if I remember right) and he had a mild turbo upgrade at 14psi. I litteraly ran away from him at 65 starting in 5th @11.4psi.

Oh, He did barely lose to this lightning. It was a quick one.

Nice get a vented hood, and why is not that A/C line insulated? With that manifold being so close.......

FRTURBOS 11-02-2006 06:48 AM

Re: Full-Race 1000 mile turbo S200 review (FRTURBOS)

I like the raised reverse on the hood. Very cost effective and really looks kinda cool once I get the front raised to match the body. As for the AC line. If there was a problem with the AC I would look at some insulation but it blows cold all day even when the turbo is hot. There isn't a whole lot of heat left on that side. Everything can be touched without fear of getting burnt that is not part of the manifold or wastegates. Thanks for the concern though.

im glad you like the car https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

i miss seeing that beauty in the shop every morning. i had to get mighty crafty with the addition of the second wastegate, i just sat there thinking.."where the hell am i going to route the dumptube???" hahaha

FRTURBOS 11-03-2006 06:28 AM

You put the wastegate in a perfect spot.

yellowturbo 11-03-2006 10:14 AM

wow it looks like an amazing setup but Im always mad at people who build a car like that and get the best of everything but the dont even get the manifold ceramic coated to help the underhood temprerature. If you get a good coating it REALLY help. You should maybe think about doing it in the future.
