Charm City Tuning - Jeff's S2000 Street Build
I picked up an S2000 last week, Stock 2002 Sebring Silver. I have always wanted a high HP S2 since they came out, so screw it, I'm doin' it.
Here is the car:
For those of you who don't know me, I am co-owner of Charm City Tuning, in Baltimore, MD. Our 4,000sq/ft facility houses an in ground dyno-jet for in-house tuning, full fabrication section, engine and transmission building section, along with a full store front for part sales. We opened this location in 2009, and so far we have been growing bigger and bigger. I am looking to get into the S2000 market big time, so I am building this car for myself to display some of our precise work.
I am starting with a stock longblock setup, and slowly going to build a strong longblock on the side.
The first go-around will consist of:
Turbo System:
-Full-Race Twin Scroll front mount manifold
-Precision Billet 6265SP T4 1.12AR (will upgrade with built motor)
-CCT Race Intercooler
-CCT Intercooler Piping
-CCT Downpipe & Dumptubes
- (2) Tial MVS 38mm Wastegates
-Tial 50mm BOV
Engine Misc:
-S90 Billet Throttle Body
-CCT Sheetmetal Intake Manifold
Fuel System:
-Aeromotive 340 In-tank pump
-Upgraded Lines
-Magnafuel 2999 Regulator
-Injector Dynamics 1000cc Injectors
Engine Management:
-AEM 30-6052 Series 2 EMS Box
-Hondata 4Bar Map Sensor
Suspension / Wheels:
-HSD 16W Coilovers
-Blitz 01 Staggered 18x8/18x9 +38
-Yokohama S-Drive 205/40/18, 225/40/18
Drivetrain:
-Competition Clutch Twin Plate clutch kit
-Hasport 94A Rear Differential Mounts
-T1R Halfshaft Spacers
All fabrication & wiring will be done in-house, Mike (co-owner) will be helping me along with doing the AEM tuning, and anything else I will need a hand with. He has experience with a lot of S2Ks, and has owned a few himself.
Here are a few pics that I snapped today of some parts I have gotten in the last 5 days, just to get this build thread going.
Big thanks to:
-Full-Race Motorsports for the crackhead deal on the manifold
-Tommy @ JRP for the insane discount on everything
-Tony @ T1 for the Injectors
-John @ APF for the deal on the pump
-Mike for guidance when I can't make up my mind, or am about to do something stupid
I will try and update this thread as much as I can!

out of curiosity, why in the world are you only going to be running a 205/225 setup? seems a little mismatched with the power you are going to be making

lol, you guys are too funny
I am not going to be running these wheels if I am trying to put any kind of power down to the ground, i ran these tires for fitment for the offset of the wheels.
You can own 2 different sets of wheels, guys.
I probably should have posted this elsewhere, because out of all this stuff, you people only noticed tire sizes lol

I was about to chime in about that.. if someone is putting a setup together like this, there's no way they don't understand the concept of traction hahaha

only following what information you gave us. you listed that as your tire sizes, if you werent planning on keeping that then why say it? it was obviously out of place with the well thought out modifications, but you listed it regardless lol. good luck and i look forward to seeing the results

Chris told me you guys were putting one of these together. Looks good! Chris has been giving me a hand with parts on mine. About to make a thread somewhat close to this.

Re: Charm City Tuning - Jeff's S2000 Street Build
When you lower the car, if places the axles at an awkward angle relative to the differential, which in theory tries to make the axle longer. By doing this, it can cause binding and premature axle failure. The spacers move the axle further out from the differential, adding the "length" you need to keep the axles are the correct length. The spacers generally come in either 10 or 15mm depending on how low you go with the car. I went with the T1R 10mm.
Got a few new parts today (AEM EMS, Hasport Differential Mounts), Installed my freshly painted AP2 bumper, and will be starting on the Fabrication this weekend

Re: Charm City Tuning - Jeff's S2000 Street Build
Put on the freshly painted bumper tonight, and while doing so, realized how much room I have to make an intercooler for this thing. I had the tow hole, tag holes, and emblem hole shaved. Sorry for the iphone pics
Hasport Rear Diff mounts, which I have to modify to make them wory, the bushing holes are 1.4mm too small for the factory post that the mounts slide onto (wasted 2 hours to find this out, and by the time I got the car on the lift, it was 2AM and I didn't have a big enough bit for my drill press, and it was too late to call anyone so I had to put it all back together stock.) Luckily Thursday is tool day, so I can grab the right bit off of the truck tomorrow.
And my AEM also arrived today!

Completely unrelated, but how much did the front bumper respray cost you? I need to get mine done. I'm not far from Baltimore btw.

Well we work on the painters car, so I just paid for materials. On average you will pay between 150-200 to get a bumper painted with good quality paint.
