Re: car seat (hbsir888)
A rear facing infant seat? No
A regular, forward facing, child seat should be fine. With the seat all the way back the air bag should not hit the seat with its full force.

unnecessary risk that could end your child's life? no thanks
a loaded .45 piston with safety on should not fire right?

legally... yes, as long as its not a rear-facing like a couple of people said above
morally... if you have to ask, then you should think again

Re: (Chris.)
Wow. Three times and I think you made your point.
Are you a parent? (Just curious)
I think it is a realistic question. I wouldn't take my daughter in the S until she was 6. With a booster seat bottom she was able to fit the seatbelt properly. Yes, I did have the dealership deactivate the airbag until she got older.
Now that Georgia has adopted the same plan as Michigan (where we have our summer home) I suspect many states will follow.
Simply put, under 100lbs or age 12, child must use a booster seat.
Needless to say, I brought hers back out and she enjoys the car more now anyway since she is able to see over the door.
As far as a baby seat, I would suggest to avoid it all together. Given the narrow Recaro seats the S has, there is no good way to anchor the carrier well. Save a lot of trouble and potential disaster and invest in a "daily driver" and leave the S for kidless fun on the weekends for the time being.
I suggest to contact your local Sherrif of State Police for the accurate regulations and by all means, use some common sense. For you and the other motorists we share the road with.
Good luck, be careful and enjoy.

it doesn't matter, one time is all it takes...if you really keep trying to convince people that you think it's ok to put a child in the front seat of an s2000, i think you need to reconsider your priorities...i can't believe you would put owning an s2000 over your child's life...i think you might need to grow up man and buy a car that has a backseat and is safe to put a child in
