Anyone Running Potenza RE11's?
Just wondering if anyone has a set of RE11's on there s2k. How do you like them? How do they compare to the RE050? I know the 11's have a 180 tread ware as opposed to the 050's that have 140. Just seeing how everyone likes them. I'm in the market for tires and looking at Bridgestone cause they have a $100 gift card if you buy a set, so I'm going back and forth with the re11's and re050. I live in NY and the car wont be driven in the really cold anyway, Im just real curious about how the re11 handle water. Thanks in advance.

I've had a stock AP2-sized set mounted on brand new SSRs sitting in my basement for almost a year but haven't put them on yet because I'm waiting on 1 damn SSR center cap. I didn't even need new wheels or tires (only had 500 miles on my 050s) but just had to buy the RE-11s after reading the reviews at Tirerack I just had to buy them. If you read the reviews - particularly from S2000 owners - you might be sold too.

The RE11s are a much much much higher performance tire than the RE050s. However, honestly...for the price, the Direzza Z1 starspec is the way to go. They pretty much match or beat the RE11 in all performance aspects. They lose to the RE11 for ride quality and quietness by a bit. Oh well.
Personal experience from the Z1s say that they're F'ing sticky. My friend had RE11s on his car and they're a great tire. They're just not worth the extra $200 from the Z1 starspecs.

^^ what this guy said above. I told some people yesterday the same thing about the extra pricetag on the RE11's to the Star Specs. The handling of the RE-11 to the Star Specs cannot be justified with the additional $200 pricetag.
