2006 AP2 + CR steering rack...CR EPS required?
As the title suggests, I need a new steering rack. The CR rack is cheaper at majestic than the normal rack for my 06. I want to know if I need the CR EPS unit to run the CR rack, or if the 06 EPS will work.
Thanks. |

Maybe check the part numbers? If they match they are probably the same. If the part numbers match, ask the dealership parts guy if they need to be programmed before installation, if no then you are probably good to go.

Now, does EPS need to be reprogammed or is it truly PnP? the upshot of all this is Majestic says that there are no CR racks in stock, nationwide :P |

Should be plug and play. Make sure you disconnect the battery so it won't trigger the EPS light.
Changed one earlier this year and didn't need to program anything |

Good info.
Somehow, it would seem as though you'd need the AP1 EPS.:shrugs: |

Update to this thread:
Ordered the CR rack, bolted the AP2V2 EPS to it, and it was completely plug and play. no need to even reset neutral. Since the CR rack is a couple hundred bucks cheaper than the AP2V2 rack, it's a good option for people who need to replace their racks. Don't notice much difference in tighter steering ratio, though. |
