swap question
Ok I am getting ready to get a ruckus and want to do the swap, my question is will this scooter work with the swap?
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/for/1479993500.html
its 150cc says 60mph max wich is perfect for what I want. I keep reading about the gy6 motor and saw some places that sell the parts. But it seems to be cheaper to buy the scooter and tear it apart becase it has everything that I will need, assuming it works.
If that one wont work will you guys please shoot me some options that I can use to do the swap with. I am super excited to get my ruck on!
I love the extended swingarm look with the fat rear tire and rim.

Re: swap question
Yes you can use the complete motor, rear wheel, and the harness if you know how to wire it all up. If not you can buy a PnP harness and the motor will work with your stock controls. I just finished this swap in todays. Today was the first time I rode it.

Re: swap question
The donor bike was a 08 Sun L B21b 150cc. I used the harness, swap, rear tire and disc. You will need to do a little mod'n to your back brake lever for the master cylinder/brake to work. Also you will need a Vaccum Fuel Pump and a Relay if you do NOT buy a PnP harness. I made me harness to save money.

Re: swap question
ok sorry for all of he questions, but at ks-customs.com they have a gy6 that says its a direct bolt on no welding. So I assume that I can buy the pnp harness and this motor and im set right?
Or if I was to pick up this scooter I would have to weld some of the mounts? Please correct me if I am wrong, also what other parts if any can I pull from this cheaper scooter and use on the ruck, brakes maybe? Please forgive my lack of knowledge I am doing alot of reading trying to figure this thing out.
The reason for me asking because a direct bolt on will obviously be easier to deal with.
Last question, where can I buy the pnp harness?

Re: swap question
Ok I used the following off the DONOR scooter
Complete motor with rear tire and disc brake
Exhaust
Complete hareness
Now what I did was bought a Motor mount set to stretch out 7 inches and from the motor to the handle bars I re wired everything that way I didnt have to buy a Harness.
If you want a PnP harness they are very clean. Now if you can wire I say rewire the bike to save you the extra cash for something else.. Im not sure on what Mount kit your talking about.
Look on total ruckus and mounts, harness, and what not. Its all there.

Re: swap question
ok, I just registered on total ruckus.
I found a used rucks for 1200, its an 07 camo gonna pick it up on monday. Im stoked to have another project. I want to do the gy6 and the extension right away, not even going to ride it until that is done.
