Knock-off Big Ruckus!
https://www.scooterdepot.us/files/pr...l/mc_zs_24.jpg These are interesting. If the 150's are real GY6's, they might be worth messing around with. I like my GET and I'm never going to swap my bike, but if you're going to swap anyway and if the frames are about the same, may as well start with one of these. |

That is exactly what I was thinking! |
Re: LOW ON CASH BUY A KNOCKOFF
Does anyone actually have one of these? I have been looking at them for a while and they look decent but I don't want to buy something that will break all the time.

Re: LOW ON CASH BUY A KNOCKOFF
I can personally say they are pretty junky. My friend had one to ride out to the beach and muffler rusted off within a year. They are built with the cheapest hardware around. They are fun for the price just don't plan on commuting for long on one. If you buy it for what they are intended for (cheap fun), you will get that.

Re: LOW ON CASH BUY A KNOCKOFF
I bought a 250cc Chinese scoot back in March 2008, I've put over 8000 mi. on it since.
It has never missed a beat, other than two flat tires and a few burned fuses. It cruises nicely around 45 mph, gets up to 60 mph but the suspension is really poor for sustaining that speed, even little cracks in the pavement effect the handling at that speed. It cost me $35 to insure for the whole year, gets over 75 mpg, I ride it regularly for my 10 mile commute to school when the weather is nice. Underseat compartment has enough room for my book bag and stow my riding jacket once I'm in school. Running errands on the scoot is quite entertaining when you have large items to carry: http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...er/p_00002.jpg Few times a year I carry my bicycle on the scooter to the local bicycle group ride, also serve as a support vehicle for local bicycle races: http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...SUC50878-1.jpg Not too bad for $1699 delivered to my door back in 2008. I keep it around so one day my wife might get to her license to ride it. |
