Re: GY6 Swap
I JUST did mine...Killer Scooter makes it completely painless...especially the wiring. As far as end results...the acceleration is rediculous! I seriously did not expect the amount of torque the gy6 has. Top speed is probably close to 60mph, and this is pretty much a stock gy6 motor (just filter and btx exhaust)
I don't think I could ever go back to my 50cc

Re: GY6 Swap
easy 55-60 mph there's tons of factors that can change top end.
riders weight, tire size and gearing. gy6 have different gear ratios and no way to tell what it has when you get your donors until you open them up.
big bore 180cc's have tons of torque and top end i ve been walked up top by a big bore and larger carb at 55 mph.

Re: GY6 Swap
these things are crazy lol. i'm in illinois..... not much of a ruckus happenin here. where can i get one of these things? all i really wonna do is put a kit on it for the gy6 engine with the longer swing arm and a big rear wheel. is there a kit out there like this? and what are the specs for the best gy6 engine? how many cc's does the gy6 go up to? i'm seein a little bit of information on a 250cc gy6 but cant find any real information on parts or builds. bigger would be better but i also dont want to end up with an obscure engine i can never find parts for, stock or aftermarket. 150cc seems the most common.
im also seein a ton of aftermarket replacement parts. would it be cheaper to by gy6 parts than to buy a whole engine 1st? atleast that way i'd know exactly what i'm gettin lol
this crossed my mind too...... is there a kit for the big ruckus 250cc engine to go in the small ruckus???

Re: GY6 Swap
Does anyone know the right size gy6 150cc motor that is needed for the swap? There are two different sizes and i dont want to get the wrong size motor. I know it has something to do with the length of the swing arm.
