Re: elite 110 mods?
hopped on a ruckus today for the 1st time and saw it side-by-side with the elite..... i like the ruckus more. i hit 40 on the ruckus but it took some time getting up past 30.
the ruckus is a new 2010 model that they're trying to clear out for the newer 2011 model. it's listed at $2,100 now. is that a good deal or is there still some overhead that they can come down on? some people are getting new elite 110's online for $2,300..... it makes me wonder if they can bring the ruckus down to $1,700 or $1,800

Not when you can step up to an '05- '08ish Ninja 250 for about the same price...

Re: elite 110 mods?
i like the new ninja 250's but the older body doesn't do it for me. plus i like staying with the hondas. scooters are getting more popular around here..... maybe it's just cuz i'm noticing them more though.
i've looked into the kawasaki 250 vs honda 250. i got a scooter cuz of gas prices and cuz there fun. bike's are fun but you start going into leisure instead of functionality with eating more gas, needing a different license, and the insurance being in an entirely different bracket.
the new kawi still looks better but i'd take the fuel injected honda 250r in black also. what i really want to work up to someday when my driving record cleans up and i get out of the most expensive to insure age bracket, i want an 07 cbr1000rr.

No. it's my belief that if you need to modify a scooter, you should have gotten a more powerful one to start out with, or even a small motorcycle instead.

Re: elite 110 mods?
you should try doing a cone filter mod and delete the airbox. on the off chance that that doesn't give any performance increase (it definitely should), it will still sound a lot better.

I don't do cone filters anymore. One thing I like about this scooter is how quiet it is.
I am trying to get ahold of a scooter parts guy from Taiwan about getting an ECU from the Honda Lead 110. I don't even know if it's a good idea or not yet. Hopefully he will chime in soon.

Yes. The filter I am getting is a replacement for the stock filter, and goes in the stock airbox. When you do a cone filter, you usually get rid of the stock airbox. Might not be so bad for a fuel injected bike, but it usually throws off a carbureated bike and you have to readjust the carb.

if you get the chance, check the variator. some of the older elites were restricted by keeping the weights from being able to move past a certain point outward keeping top speeds down.

Re: elite 110 mods?
I know this last post was from a short while ago, but I just got a 2010 elite 110 at the beginning of last summer and love everything about it. Except top speed (don't get me wrong, I'm looking for about a 5 mph increase). I feel the bike can go faster, but it is restricted even when going down hill when there is something holding it back. Has anyone found a "fix" for this yet? I was looking into the magnum revolution pro kit for $174.99 but with the lack of details I am quite unsure. It seems like this scoot is speed restricted as well as RPM restricted. I do not want to buy a new scooter as I really like this one. The 2010 SH150i looked great but financially right now a couple hundred bucks would appeal to me much more.
