Wiring Diagram for JDM headlights
To make a long story short, my old stock headlight got smashed, I got the JDM 1 piece headlights, shop is having trouble installing them.
Can you guys provide the picture of the wiring diagram for the headlights? The guy is having a lot of trouble at the shop trying to install the headlights.
Any kind of help would be very much appreciated. I have class in an hour and need this info asap so I can fax it to the shop! (Reason why I didn't do much searching)

Re: Wiring Diagram for JDM headlights (92prelude)
I dont know about a wiring harness, but when I installed the JDM headlights for my 93 prelude, all we did was cut the wires and crimp them to the old OEM headlight wires. I wish i had pictures to show but its worked fine and I have had no problems. Not only that but it's very easy to replace if something goes wrong with the wires.

That's sort of what I told the guy, but he is still REALLY confused.
He wants me to fax him a picture of how to wire them. I told him I remember seeing one online, but I can't find it now.

Yeah its super easy, the wires match up from one harnass to another, and are even the same colors, just cut the old harness off, and solder and heat-shrink the new ones on, and the they are ready to plug in. The only difference is if you want to use the high and low circuits on the H4 bulb in the JDM lights, then you need to use a relay in the mix, but it sounds like that is way above the guy doing the works head.

Re: Wiring Diagram for JDM headlights (92prelude)
I made a 9006 to H4 and 9005 to H1 conversion wiring harnesses so i wouldn't have to cut into the stock wiring. Also, it makes it alot easier to switch back to stock if you decide to sell the JDM headlights. If you don't feel like making the conversion harnesses, you can cut the connectors of the stock wiring and then solder or connect the wires straight to the corresponding wires on the JDM sockets (H4 & H1). I have alot of time on my hands so i made a wiring diagram of my setup. Hope this helps.

Oh man. This guy is starting to **** me off. I ordered just the headlights a while ago (no sockets, harnesses blah blah blah) and the car has been in the shop for almost a month.
Anyways, the guy just called and was asking a **** ton of questions (like I'm the ******* mechanic).
1. The back of the headights have the "two 4" holes for the bulbs". What sockets does he use to hold the bulbs in there?
2. With this wiring diagram, will I not have bright lights?
3. What do I use to "plug up the hole" for the fog light?

your mechanic is a retard. the h4 is your low beam the h1 is your high. not hard to figure out. or you can do like i did and make your h4 a high/low and get yellow h1's and do a DRL/fog conversion.
if im reading correctly then he cant figure out how to get the bulbs to stay in? theres a paperclip looking thing that holds the bulb in and the grommet also helps stabilize it.
i say get your car back and karate chop that guy in the neck

Re: Wiring Diagram for JDM headlights (hp92lude)
On average, how long did it take for you guys to install your headlights?
Apparently, it took the mechanic who was working on my car FIVE hours to install them.

you can buy the complete headlight set up at passwordjdm.com or ebay. just make sure you get the plugs. If you do not get the plugs with your lights, you can find them online too.
