what shop press for bearings
my lude has 240k miles, i plan on autox soon so new bearings are in my future, plus i have to replace a stripped wheel stud.
so I was contemplating buying a shop press. Will a 12 ton shop press do the job, or how many tons are needed for wheel bearings. thanks.

ah yes exactly where i was planning on getting it from. can anyone else confirm that 12 ton is enough. "should be" doesn't quite cut it, but thanks for the input.

you can hammer a wheel bearing out and in... but a press will make it all too easier..
I say you take the knuckle(s) to a shop and pay 'em some money to have them pressed out.... rather than buying one...

yeah bring out the BIG F*CKING hammer so that you can destroy it while you're at it.

yea id rather not do the hammer method.
besides 4 bearings x $30 each to press in = $120 same price as a press. plus i have another car with 170k miles on original bearings still.
