Re: What Have you done to your Prelude today?
Last August my Civic was stolen and I ditched the whole idea when I replaced it with my Integra GSR.
Because of guys like YOU and 95greenlude.......That itch has always loomed in the back of my mind......I have hated on Non-VTECs before as I am an H22 *****!...
Not to mention back in the late 90s, KING Motorsports(local to me) had a ~200whp H23 running in a RoadRace series.......Im sure they have some advice to lend!
Im NOT completely sure what car I would put my Non-VTEC in(as I have aspirations of an H24 for my RaceCar).......Maybe I would buy a shell, and spray the shot out of it!
But I would like to do a THROWBACK setup using OLD & OEM HONDA parts!.......Something that could've been built in the late 90s and been a TOP DOG had people known more about Honda engines and the incest of parts that was possible. I probably wouldn't use anything more than an SAFC to tune it.......Some old GUDE parts maybe?!?!
Hope that sums it up......"G" series with ONLY 1990s technology!
I can easily relate to guys like you and others being told NOT to waste your time with Non-VTECs......When I 1st got into this Honda thing 10yrs ago, my friends were rocking LS1s, GNs, Rustangs, and Classic Muscle.......I've heard the; Your car will NEVER be fast more times than I can remember.......Needless to say a few street races tamed that down a bit! And a 14.9x run in 2000!
So the answer to the question? What have I done to my Prelude today? I opened my stubborn mind a little bit! Thanks Pirate and 95greenlude!

Vegas does suck. I think I went down to the strip (non work related) for the first time in over a year. Its just like any other town, except we're stuck in the middle of a damn desert.

Re: What Have you done to your Prelude today?
purchased new spark plugs, and got some radiator coolant so i could start the car for the first time in a couple weeks and found out why it was running so weak. 2 of the plugs were covered in oil. did some research and found this thread http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...lug+tube+seals im not sure if im going to try this myself. anyone else know if the oil on the plugs could be caused from another problem or is this most likely it?
first 2 pics are the old and new plugs
the last one is a shot of what ive got done in the last couple weeks
painted: intake chamber, throttle body, cai and filter, strut bar, battery box, various brackets and such, cleaned battery and terminals.
still alot of work to go to get this thing clean and running strong.

Re: What Have you done to your Prelude today?
I contemplated adding 2 more preludes to my garage for a grand total of 5. but if i do, that will absolutely be the last of preludes until they are sold off completely (may keep 1, but even thats not for sure.)
