What engine oil is best?
Which engine oil is best to put in my 2000 Prelude (around 100 000 km) for spring/summer driving?

Maybe Canola Oil would be good too. If your engine ever burns oil, at least it'll smell good. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif |
Re: What engine oil is best? (Newt)
I like Amsoil 0W 30 https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
But now I have Mobil 1 with super syn 0W 30 |
correct me if i'm wrong but isnt that weight pretty prone to over heating?? 10w60 sounded more appealing.. i used 0w30 during the winter.
|
i use havoline synthetic 5w30 in my 5th gen

Re: (97Lude)
castrol, the best.
|
Re: What engine oil is best? (Newt)
it depends on driving habits. If you like the high revs and VTEC i would go with Castrol or Mobile 1 50-10 in the summer. Its a little harder to breakdown. If not 30 weight should be fine.

Re: What engine oil is best? (mugencl1)
I called black stone labs about this a while back. They have tested oil in every car with every type of oil you can think of. They told me the best 2 oils for cars that are run hard (ie track days) is either: Amsoil or the new Mobil 1 Synthetic. However to make sure an oil is working right for you, you should have the oil analisys done by them.
