Went to the Ref today, Smog: PASS, Visual: FAIL
I went to the Smog Ref at Contra Costa College today (00 H22A4 into an 97 Acura CL) and passed emissions but failed the visual inspection. The ref told me that I needed the Cvap control canister setup from a 2000 Prelude. He didn't check the ECU this time (I have the rare 96 OBD2 Prelude ECU) because he either didn't have the tools or was too lazy to remove the panel and check. Now, I've searched and searched and it seems that it is IMPOSSIBLE to remove the immobilizer from the ECU, is there any other solution for this? Which refs DON'T check for the ECU so I can go there? The ref said next time he would check the ECU to verify that it's P5M, but obviously I have a P13. For a ghetto solution, I was thinkin of tryin to get the sticker from a P5M ECU and just put it on the 96.. Also, has anybody replaced an Evap canister before? It doesn't look too hard, but has anybody done this before? Thanks.
