unknown/unmarked h22 header. can you identify?
Picked this up a while ago and have no idea what brand or type it is. The person I got it from thought it may have been a Spoon header, but I haven't found anything. No markings on it. It has nicely blended primaries though...
Anybody know what this is?

pacesetter is usually black like that. If it were a big name brand, it would definately be stamped on there somewhere

Yeah, it's not black, more of a dark bronze; and the pacesetter is completely black, including the flanges. I don't know of many eBay knock-offs that have tapered primaries like that. From what I remember reading about exhaust theory, that's supposed to help against reversion. I do agree, it is quite strange there are no markings on it. The only other explanation I can think of is if it was originally a full manifold (upper/lower) and the name plate was on the lower section as I have seen on some.

Yeah, late response... I came across this thread through Google. Someone else may need the info one day!
I just bought one of these headers and was also told it was a Spoon, and that they only made the top section to bolt onto the stock downpipe (seeing as how DC, Greddy, etc don't make us more than a pony or two anyway I can understand the logic here). Mine looks like it was shiny at one point though, a kind of bluish-bronze color. Got it cheap since the welds were cracked in places, it's currently at PFI Speed getting taken care of. Then it's off to a polisher. I can't wait to stick this thing on, it should be a nice start to my new exhaust system.

Re: unknown/unmarked h22 header. can you identify?
Wow, holy old thread. Yeah, I'm sure now it's a knock-off. I finally got around to installing this about 6 months or so ago, but haven't had a chance to tune it and didn't throw it on the dyno. I changed out the entire exhaust at the same time, so it wouldn't have been a very meaningful comparison anyway. Likewise for me, it didn't take long for two of the welds between the primaries and the main flange to start cracking. Looks like it was fusion welded, but needed to have some filler material in there. Curious how it works out for you.

I'm in Fort Collins, CO. PFI welded up the manifold for me, but I'm waiting until I get it re-polished to stick it on the car - honestly, this was a "ricer" purchase. If it's legit, it's just a cool collector's item, and based on the quality of the seller's most recent two builds (CB7, BB4 - seriously, check those out!), I like to believe he wasn't jerking me. Even if, it only ran me $240 because of the welds, $305 total so far. However, I don't care to spend over $100 dynoing this one small part; the guy said he could feel it in the top end, but I doubt it will offer more than a couple horsepower. Those welds look excellent but they're thin as hell, huh? Mine are fairly beefy now, haha!
A recent run of bad luck is delaying a lot of plans though. My car's an automatic sedan, and I want to get a manual coupe next summer. I just blew my second transmission and am fed up with how weak these things are (it's a shame an H2B setup isn't realistic for an Accord, haha!). A full 2.5" exhaust system with an enlarged stock downpipe collector was one of the big projects I wanted to do before the switch, but that's gonna have to wait now.
