Default Type - S pistons/ Bottom end question

For now I have a stock bottom end, But I was looking at getting some Type - S pistons. I dont exactly remember everything that people have said, but it seems to me that if you get certain types of rods then you can use OEM pistons......is this even logical?

Any suggestions for good H22 Rod/piston setup? (without resleaving)

Thanks, Mark

Type-S pistons you use stock rods....but you could get aftermarket rods...makes no difference in fitment, just the aftermarket will be stronger, but the stockers are fine for N/A near stock rev lmits

I think the stock rods have to be modded to accept floating wrist pins....?I could be wrong....

I think that is only done to the OBDI motors ie 93-96. The 97+ H22A's already use this and thus is not needed

So if I went with aftermarket rods then I could use the Type - S pistons without going through a bunch of crap? Hmm.....I think its time to un-swap my car....and build the sh*t out of my h22......

I hate getting beat by b16 powered cars LOL

What does everyone think about the Skunk2 Stage 2's for a N/A Azz kicker?

Got me a 96 P13 (obd II)

but I payed out the @$$ for it......

I did finally get my car to the track...and I was surprized/disapointed

I only ran 15.1 @ 91 (my 60' was 2.48) and that was on 17's.......so with slicks/drag radials I think I can exspect mid-low 14's (completely stock-open header)

Well.....you got me man......my car weighed 2600 with me in it.....and I drove the sh*t out of it.....but it spins really bad off the line.....so I cant launch very effectively.

I need to check my cam timing/ign. timing and compression....but I work on cars all day...so when I get home I just want to sit on my a$$

Floating wrist pins ar exactly that. Most other cars use pins that are pressed into the piston. Ours have c-clips that hold the pins in place. Its done that way to reduce fricion a little between the rid and the piston via the wrist pin.
