Default timing belt tensioner

my auto timing belt tensioner broke while i was compressing it. right now i dont' really have the money to go buy a new one so i'm gonna hit up the junk yard to see if i can find one. now my question is will any other tensioners from other models fit?... or does it have to be a h22/23?

h23's don't have an auto-tensioner, and about 99% of people on here will tell you to use the manual tensioner as the auto's are prone to failure as you can tell... You can use the same manual tensioner parts from the f22 or h23. Do a search for "manual tensioner" and there are several writeups and arguments about tensioners.

no, it's a tight fit, but it can certainly be done.

IMO just go and buy a new auto tensioner. it will probably be around the same price as buying all the parts for the manual tensioner conversion and less time spent on labor. a lot easier job than coverting to manual. also think about this, when will be the next time you change your timing belt? 60,000 miles? thats what, about 5 years from now? the auto tensioner should last longer than that anyway. Honda has updated auto tensioners due to the fact of so many failing.

does anyone have a part number for the auto timing belt tensioner?... where is the best place to get it?... i ordered a timing belt tensioner from napa and it came in today. but it was the pulley part of the tensioner. which i dont' need. napa, autozone and advanced all said they can't order the auto tensioner.
