so I have finally been researching and looking and have finally got 99% percent of my parts and decided I want to start my build. it was a present to myself for getting out the army after 6 yrs.i was going to do an h22 build but my engine builder said why not try to do h23 vtec and and see what you can do out of it. so i said f--- it lets get this going. my goal is 240-250 and 190 tq. i will see what happens.its going into my 4th gen prelude sivtec. possible compression is going to be 12.5 to 1 on 93 octane.

Looks like a nice build, I just did mine and is burning a lot of oil, like a quart per every 150highway miles more less. let me know if you have the same problem during break in period. Get them pics soon man!!

it will be interesting to compare dyno numbers

Hows the OBX lsd tranny perform? Usually a quality and function issue with most OBX products.

Would OEM axles not be an option?

Good to see your balancing the crank from the h23, is that pretty much all you need to balance to allow the h23 to rev a bit higher?

It surely can't hurt, but the reason the h23 crank doesn't like to rev higher is simply the fact that it has a longer stroke.

OP: I'm not a fan really of the crower 3s, sorry to rain on your parade and such, but I don't think you'll be seeing 240whp with them. But who knows, they might respond much better to your setup than others.

I didn't have good success with them but that was on stock internals.

so your motor is brand new but already finished...
that build doesn't look like it will make it. maybe something like 220whp.
you are better off going with some skunk pro2's then the crower stage 3.

well my little brother used it in his single cam turbo with and it was 386 tq and it was good for him.

the problem i have is that i break axles easy. i broke on my stock h22 3 axles already.

well the reason is that i go them at stupid deal like 210 so i figured i can't go wrong. if anything i sell them and then get pro 2s

This setup will have much a higher compression ratio than the factory h23 vtec.

just waiting on your punk ***

btw, dont set power goals. They are worthless unless you know what you have ran on that dyno before and tend to break hearts unless you are turbo and can just turn up the boost to fit your ego.

good luck.

lol

I've read that whp correlates well to peener size.

...did I mention that was an inverse correlation?

shouldnt be a problem. Dont worry about HP power. Thats just for people to brag. I would rather have 180whp and run a higher trap than someone with 210whp. THAT is bragging rights against people who think HP wins races.

just be sure to get street tuning and dyno tuning. You will need it.

yea most diffently...i am going to xenocron for tuning he has done about 4 of my crews cars already and everyone has been very happy. my biggest worry about it all is just making sure i break it in properly cause some people have different ideas and since i don't have the header i am worried i might be putting to for into the exhaust and cause back pressure into the block and that would really suck.

got pics of some parts. i just fun out that the block is good to go and i should be picking it up in a few days. crank was balanced and block was cleaned and leveled. the pistons where taken care off into the rods. hopefully i get the head this week cause i want to start putting all the stuff together.what sucks is that when i was putting the mainfold together i am missing a freaking rdx clip and i don't know where it is. i've seen that u can use the scion mod but i was seeing if anyone knows where i can get the clip?????? it sucks that i have all this stuff and nowi missing a freaking clip.

Looks good so far. Is that flywheel an OEM one that's been machined, or is it cut from fresh stock? Good luck with the build.
