Are TI retainers really necessary....

Are they really needed? Set up is Crower stage 3 cams and Eibach valve springs. I heard of cause the high lift and duration of the cams that it can eat away causing them to weakin. Of course i have no idea if thats true or not. Couldn't i just use my stock retainers. I think the spring is stiff enough to pull the valve back up so it doesn't hit the piston. Maybe i'm a dumbass i don't know, but let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Get the Crower steel ones if you don't want to check them every 5k miles for premature wear. Ti is VERY gall happy so if your springs move around they can eat away the retainers real quick.
