Default slim fit radiator fan...

i recently purchased a koyo radiator...i need a different fan & fan shroud because the stock fan shroud doesn't line up with the bolt holes on the koyo radiator. im going to order from spal usa...as someone suggested previously. i was wondering whether i would need a medium profile 14 inch...or medium profile 16 inch fan....they knew nothing....any help would be awesome.
thnx!

Can you fit a slim fan onto the OEM radiator?

13" is right i have the same set up.....you probably got the info from one of my posts.

the 14" fan would slightly overhang the flow area on the top/bottom....so the benefits from the extra inch on the sides would be minimal.

i am using the smallest profile they have and don't need a shroud, that radiator is so efficient that the fan takes a while before it even needs to come on. I just have one 13" in the middle of the radiator because i removed the a/c.

^you could mount a slim fan on the stock with custom brackets but i don't know why you would want to

Reason I'm asking is because I'd wanna save room in my engine bay. The stock fans are pretty bulky.

^^you can check, i think they have the volt specs of their fans at spal's website

^yeah just buy the custom brackets and mount them up and cut off the excess bracket.....i just bought the long ones and cut off the excess

truthfully you could make your own with some metal strips and a drill

^how thick is your radiator?

my stock fans wouldn't even fit they hit the motor mount. Maybe you have a slimmer radiator

for extra room in the bay, mount your fans on the front of the radiator and wire them to be pull fans, just as proficienet and it saves a ton of room...
