Re: short shifter adapter question
That adapter replaces the metal peice that is welded to the shifter. This way it increases the hieght of the that plate,(where the cable pins in) thereby decreasing throw.
If you want a nice unit, then go and buy a 5th gen bb6 shifter unit and repalce the hardware with the JTC short shifter. Great unit, far better than the one you are going to use, which looks like an OBX one.

Re: short shifter adapter question
You can, you will have to remove the shifter form the car and then modify it so that your SS unit will attach to it. That SS unit is just like the Nuespeed SS unit.
Who makes that one? did it coem with instructions?
Dont forget to trim the shift boot cover thing, as after you install that peice you may have interference from the console trim.

Re: short shifter adapter question
You shouldn't have to cut or remove anything. The adapter attaches to the shifter where the shift cable is currently attached and then you attach the cable to the adapter.

Re: short shifter adapter question
remove the bolt going through the shifter cable. bolt the adapter where you removed the bolt from. then attach the cable to the adapter with another 10mm bolt. now go rip through the gears and have fun.

Re: short shifter adapter question
From what I remember there were only two companies making true short shifters, and I know at least one of them stopped making them a while ago. I don't remember if it was JTC or someone else, but I suspect a true short shifter may be difficult to get a hold of.

Re: short shifter adapter question
Apperently you shouldnt have to modify anything....hahahaha
Like i said earlier, take the shfiter out of the car and deal with it, thats the best way.

Re: short shifter adapter question
I had/have not in use a nuespeed( i also have a JTC<in use now>, a psepc(stillBNIB), a k-sereis JTC with lockout), it requires slight modifying to work. This one appears to be an OBX, which if im correct, will require the same work.
