Re: (hoehouseworker)
i got a nissan 240sx with 220K on the original KA24 lol i wonder how much smoke i could create. It already does have an oil leak that i havent been able to find. Possibly oil cooler or the pan or somethin.
I plan on doing this in the near future after i solve the oil leaks, and ill be sure to take plenty of pics ^_^ |
Re: (hoehouseworker)
My poor car developed all sorts of fuel related problems after I seafoamed it. Of course I have to be the contrary one.
Sure, throttle response was better, but my cat got clogged, I threw a CEL 9 for injectors, fouled up the plugs, destroyed my O2 sensor, and smoked for months. I think I also unsealed some carbon-plugged leaks. Maybe the seafoam just hastened the death of parts that already were on their way out. The smokescreen project didn't help matters much either. Just thought I'd throw in some negative feedback... https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif |
Re: (98TypeSH)
so you just pour it in along with your oil? And does it matter how much gas you have when you pour it into the gas tank?
|
Re: (snowblind7x)
You should do it just before you change/are thinking about changing your oil. I don't think it matters, as long as it get's thru the lines, I imagine its all good.
I've used it on my 1990 Lude after I got a fresh B20A and it blew a crap-load of smoke the first time, for like an hour...but it definately smoothed things out. I imagine it was bad becuase of the possible length of time my engine may have been sitting. |

How were the results for your lude? |
Re: (hoehouseworker)
there was nothing wrong with the car it was just time to do it again i have been doin it like every other oil change i just remember that PrecisionH23a wanted to see smoking pics
|
So let me get this straight -
You poured Sea Foam into your Oil.... You poured it into the Gas Tank... And into the Brake line?.... I'm trying to make sure i read it right....i want to try it later when i get off work. |
you guys do know that this stuff dry rots all the rubber and piston rings inside your engine.....
you may think it runs better now, but you might pay for it later.....its a toss of a coin.... use a good fuel injection cleaner instead..... |
Re: (mgags7)
Damn...so many uses for this stuff. Can it be as good as they say? https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emdgust.gif
|
Is there anyone out there that knows of someone or is someone who has done this regularly or has done it, and are able to show that it is ok to do in the long run. IE more then 2 years of doing this or did it 2 years ago and the car is still fine.
|
Re: (sh00rik)
Call me a Newbie or whatever, but I have never heard of this stuff. What is it and what is it supposed to do?
|
Its jsut like the GM top Engine cleaner... it just cleans all the carbon buildup in your block.. its liek 5 bux at autozone/advance auto parts
|
I bought a can and then pussed out on useing it becuase, im worried about dry rot. Is this true or is the something that will happen no matter what cleaner you use
|
with the regualr use of a good synthetic oil and a good fuel injector cleaner once in a while, is there even a need for products like this.

carbon buildup is imminent no matter what you do.... |
Re: (hoehouseworker)
the dealership i worked for used my old h23 as a test mule/show the mechanics how to use this BG induction cleaner (basically does the same shit as seafoam) and OMG the cloud of smoke that came out of that bitch was huge! it was good times. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
i recommend doing this just to see the cloud of smoke hahaha its the greatest part! https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif |
Re: (crdcz03)
You guys are brave, I won't put that stuff near my car.
|
Re: (sharkcohen)
used it last wk on my '94 h22a...no noticeable differences in performance, but it does idle smoothly now
|
I tried it today, car has 140k on it and it had some white smoke prior to sea foam.
After Sea Foam: Not a huge difference, i guess it idles smoother, it did get quiter. And the smoke that was there before doesnt seam to be there now. Dont know if I can contribute that to seafoam or not. The only problem i notice is that it not only smoked at the exhuast but also from the header, im going to have to look further into this. |

Some probably got past the combustion chamber and pushed into the exhaust side. No biggie, it'll burn off in a few miles. |
Re: (Finest)
had me worried for a bit, I almost thought I was going to have to trash my stock header and exhuast and buy perfomance ones....that would have sucked
|
Re: (GT_Alpha)
man... i used that shit, and it did WONDERS for my car...its so much smoother...i also used the deep creep at the same time...WOW..that's all i can say. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: (pimpgixxer04)
