Default RWD Prelude?

Just wondering is it possible to convert a prelude to RWD without mounting the engine in the trunk? I was thinking about getting an s2000 engine and trying to do so, but I just wanna see some examples.

I've only heard of 2 people mad enough to do RWD Ludes...

BB6 LS1 Widebody Build - Honda Prelude Forum

1998 Honda Prelude - RWD Converted Honda - Super Street Magazine

Anythings possible but.................not always practical. Get a 90s NSX instead.

Gotta be cheaper than the fabrication to make a FWD prelude a RWD I would think, assuming it would all have to be engineer certified for registration and insurance.

90's Acura NSXs with 100k miles are around $30-35k.

If it could be done for $30k I think we would have seen more than 1 by now (and a 2nd still being fabricated).

I mean an nsx would be nice if they were common and didn't cost 30k for one lol

I only know of one other RWD Prelude, but it is the G-Force racing car, tube chassis and such, so 100k+ into it.

The idea is not absurd, just something that most people look into and decide the money is better spent in other ways, i.e. just driving an S2000.

Well, down in Tech/Misc someone's posting a photo-detailed awd civic build, and apparently the CRV's awd manual is cable shifted unlike most B-series transmissions. So a H2B kit and finding a suitable rear-suspension and subframe setup could theoretically allow you to build a awd Prelude.
