Rsx Seats Istalled! How to...
Here they are. At last everything is made, fitted, and now installed. So here is the how to.
First you must whack three mounts off. Both of the fronts and the back outside mount closest to the door. The back inside mount can be left alone and is an easy reference when planning for the rest of the mounts.
We had to grind the welds, drill the rivets the grind the rivets. This wasn't easy at all. The rivets are made of some tough steel and its took a while to drill threw. That alone for 6 mounts took us at least 2-3 hours.
Next is to make the new brackets. We went to home depot and just bought some plain ol' steel. One long bar of angled and one of straight steel. We grounded off the edges and drill approxamate wholesfor the screws.
Welding! We took the new brackets and screwed them into where they should go. We had to bend the two front angled ones a bit to make them flat. Set the seat down on top and chose the spots we we're gonna weld at. Removed the brackets, clamped em to the seat and welded away. I'd like to thank my dad for the welding, he is hands down the best welder i know.
The back flat peice bracket had to be bent to even out the seat.
Couple shots of the new mounts in thier locations. I flat blacked the mounts after they we're finished. NOTE: The holes weren't perfect of course so a little adjustment had to be made with a die grinder.
Another thing that has to be done is the prelude buckle must be put on as it doesn't work with the rsx one. Thier is an angled tab on the prelude one that must be broken off to be bolted to the seat.
Thier you have it. Rsx seats in a prelude.Looks bad *** to me they are taller than the prelude seats and look more like race seats. This project was NOT EASY, but IMHO very worth it. They sit a tad higer which doesn't bother me but the taller guys don't like it. The shoulder support is very nice in the turns and I now have adjustable lumbar support which i like alot. Well I have one last pic on the way tomarrow of them both in the car otherwise this project is done.

Very nice. I wouldn't be able to use them, I think because my head basically touches the ceiling already with the stock seats.

haha, actually I used to do that. I hate hitting my head on the ceiling when I hit bumps. But I've found it's easier to shift when my lower back is supported in a more upright fashion.

Re: (PoweredByPrelude)
I'm reviving this thread back to life because I have a question... I also have these seats sittin here in my house for my 5th gen.. does the seatbelt light turn off when you put your seat belt on? did the wiring on the bottom of the seat direct fitted with the wire from the floor for the seatbelt light? and approx. how much is it to get this customized to be able to fit in my 5th gen? alright thanks a lot! man those seats looks so damn sick!

I have a couple of questions:
I was going to get either RSX or S2000 seats. I assume that you will lose the ability of the side airbags, which doesn't bother me, but will you lose the power seat function of the newer RSX seats? I think they're power right...
Will either of the seats hit the roof? That would be stupid if it did that.
Also, as someone above asked, does the seatbelt light stay on when you switch seats? That would not only be annoying, but I question whether you could pass inspection here in NYS with it like that.
Thanks.

Hey man whatsup.. lol have you checked the milage on the stuff I'm suppose to buy from you? i'm the guy from P.O. hehe anyways, the answer to your question is yes.. there are tan leather RSX seats.. they're off from those kind of light brownish RSXs...
And for the other question from the guy above me.. ^^^^ if the newer rsx seats ARE powered.. then yes they lose the power sliding ability.. and I doubt the seats would hit the roof..
I'm gonna try to answer my own question and see if the seatbelt light would turn on since I have the leather rsx seats here anyways and i'll let you guys know
