Rough Idle when warm.
I've been having a problem with my car for some time now. There is no CEL and my car idles funny when it's warm. The start is fine. After the car gets warm, it starts to boggle and sometimes dies. When i gas it a little, it doesn't make a smooth sound. It isn't the map sensor because i checked the voltage on the 3 wires. The ground should have 0, the signal should have 3, and the power should have 5. What else could be the problem? Thanks.

To elaborate more on the FITV, if you pull your intake off looking inside you will see a hole to the left bottom area of the throttle body, with your engine cold, turn on the car, when you put your finger over it you should feel air. If you don't there is a problem...then warm up the car until the fans come on...same thing, this time when the car is warm, you should not feel any air..if you do..problem..replace it.

Re: (dmxsoulja3)
Does the FITV have anything to do with the timing of the car because my car backfires at times. For example, when the car is warm and when i gas it it sounds like blowing bubbles through a straw in a glass of soda as opposed to just straight blowing through the straw. I hope this helps. Also, does the FITV affect the performance on the car? Can 87 octane rating gas could be the cause of this as opposed to 91? BTW, my car has a hard time starting up after the temperature of the car goes up then back to cold. HELP ME

The FITV only affects the idle of the car on warm-up. Once it becomes warm, the FITV is inactive.
Try unpluging your TPS and see if the stuttering goes away....those often go bad. Then check your IACV by unplugging it and making sure the idle goes down a bit....if it doesn't, then the IACV is not working right. Another long-shot thing to check is the intake manifold gaskets. They can become soaked in oil from blow-by and cause vacuum leaks....

Re: (Hawkze_2.3)
could it be an egr valve stuck open???????? no codes on a h22 swap del sol...the p28 that your running wont have that cel....if its stuck open it will force exhaust gas back into the IM and cause it to idle badly...makes sense...what you guys think?????

Re: (Hawkze_2.3)
So I replaced EGR valve with a blocking plate off ebay and that didn't solve the problem. A friend of mine says it could be the shaft inside the distributer. When I opened up the cap, I saw that it was rusty. I'm planning on changing the distributer shaft to see if it would fix the problem. Let me know if you guys have any other suggestions.

Re: (DelH22Sol)
It could be something as simple as spark plugs and wires, or a crap tank of gas.My friends Integra had similar symptoms and thats all it took to clear them up. Plus H22s run very rich from the factory which could contribute to the plugs fouling. Just a thought...
EDIT: Also check the Distributer, and the fact that you run 87 octane gas instead of the recommended 91 could be part of the problem too.

Re: (97Preludeguy)
I found out what the problem was!! It happen to be the distributer cap. I dont know why, but when I looked inside the cap, it looked like there was pieces rubbing against stuff. I used my stock distributer and just changed the cap. Car runs fine. Simple!! Thanks for everyones help, hope this will help some people.
