Resonator on old exhaust or buy a twin loop

Resonator on old exhaust or buy a twin loop
Right now, I have a Pacesetter 2.5" exhaust with a dual tip muffler. It's quiet at idle and low end, but past 3k RPM is really raspy. Lots of people have been saying the twin loop mufflers are really quiet and deep, but I've read a few reviews that say without a resonator, they too sound raspy, but not all unresonated ones sound raspy. So, should I buy a resonator and put it inline with my current exhaust, or just buy a twin loop and hope for the best?

Any idea if a 16" long, 3.5" around resonator will fit without rubbing the underside of the car? I remember there was a heat-shield where the exhaust path was, but I forget how much room I had to spare

Buy the real Mugen twin-loop. Then you know it won't be raspy. I'm gettin mine next spring after tax returns come out. OH YEAH!
*EDIT: Nevermind, didn't see you have a 4G. Buy a 5G, then a mugen twin-loop.

yeah just put on the resonator, and see how it sounds, but I hear that you lose some hp from it...something like that.
Yeah I was thinking of putting a resonator as well, cause mine sounds really raspy becuase of my test pipe. Just put it on and see how it sounds then give it a

Well, I went ahead and bought a resonator off eBay for $38 (it was one of those resonators people replace their cats with). Wasn't a particularly long one (only about 12"), but was very high quality construction. Took it to the muffler shop and they had it in in 10 minutes (Sawzall!). Car is noticably quieter on the bottom end and the highway, and is somewhat less raspy on the top. I figure if I got a 16" resonator, it would be ever better. Overall I'm pretty happy with it
