92 prelude si h23 tranny issues
Hi, I just picked up a 92 lude si for a project $500. The engine is the h23a3 black top runs good. It is mated with a M2T4 tranny. The guy I bought it from said he recently installed a stage 2 clutch and new master and slave cylinders. After he got it back together it was stuck in gear so he sold it. So I drove it up on a trailer, felt like it was stuck in 2nd. Got it home and messed with it a little, there is no neutral it's always in a gear. I got it to go into reverse and even did a tiny burnout. Feels sluggish like taking off in 2nd or 3rd gear. The stick moves into all the gears but they all feel the same. It's not the shift cables or connections, clutch pedal feels normal, clutch fork is moving around. All fluids full. I did some research but couldn't find much, I do believe that tranny has a LSD. Does this sound kinda like the clutch, synchros, LSD? Any help is appreciated.

M2S4 is the standard tranny for the Si models, with the H23A1 non-vtec engine. No LSD unless it is aftermarket.

The problem you describe sounds like an issue with either the cables, or the linkage inside the tranny itself.

He may have not assembled everything right, so might be worth going back over it all and ensuring that all the parts are there and in the correct locations.

Ok thanks. I read somewhere that something breaks inside the tranny just below where the shift cables connect. I'm going to start tearing into her this weekend. Thanks again.
