Prelude oil pan Bolts....always seeping.
So I get under there today and there is oil seeping from the oil pan gasket again......I replaced it not long ago because of the same problem. In my manual it says to tighten to 9ft lbs each.....that seems a little much dont u think? I dont want to smash the gasket and have to do this all over again....any advise, has anybody had this problem before, and if so what amount of ft lbs did u use to keep it dry? Thanks

What type of gasket are you using? Rubber or the stuff that comes on the tube. I just had mine done with the gasket builder stuff you use in the tube.

i use the regular rubber gasket, and dab silicone gasket maker in each bolt hole. no problems

I used to have this problem all the time until I installed a catch can and added valve cover breathers. Maybe my engine is old but you might want to give it a try.
