Prelude with moments :/
I have a 92 Honda prelude that starts on a regular basis and sometimes just doesn't start.... like the starter will keep going but no spark in the engine i'm guessing... then after you come back to it maybe 5 min later it starts..... i'm not understanding what the issue is. Please help

Air, Fuel, Compression, spark and timing is all it can be.
Check ignition timing, the TPS. Maybe bad starter, loose connection/ground, or dead battery.
Next I would try a compression leak down test if you havent fixed after checking all those.

could water in the fuel cause this also and i just kinda realized it only does it on warmer days.... for instance this morning (it was cold outside) it started and ran just fine this afternoon (it was hot out) it was doing that thing again where it was trying to start but wouldnt.

I am not a betting man, but I have a nickel that says it is a main relay issue. Using Google or the search on here should find you some answers.

main relay x2.
When you turn your key forward to ignition i (before cranking) you'll normally hear a "tick" come from under the dashboard, this is the main relay clicking on. If you don't hear that click, it's likely failed.

My 93 did the same thing and I couldn't figure out what it was could be the main relay. I ended up replacing the starter and it fixed the problem. But good luck on fixing your problem.
