Prelude or ITR?

Prelude or ITR? I would like to know which people prefer more, and why? I think these two are really great cars. But i want the people of Honda-Tech to decide. http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emsmile.gif

Re: Prelude or ITR? (brokentomorrow)

The ITR is a much better performance car. The big disadvantage with an ITR is you will be sweating over it every time you park it, whereas the liklihood of your Prelude getting stolen or stripped is much much less.

I'd take the ITR over a 5G.

what would be the best way to prevent your car from getting stolen. Besides
lo-jack. Would those CLUB where you put behind the clutch really work?

This was a new topic in the ITR forum...go here if u want to read about it; the last thing this place needs is another prelude vs integra thread.

ITR no question. It may not look as smooth and sleek as the 5th gen, but man does it perform well. http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emthup.gif

Thanks for asking us, but its your money, you should buy what YOU want, not what others want. If it was me, id get the ITR.

Re: Prelude or ITR? (GudeH23a)

imo i think the itr is a much better choice....it looks nicer and performs better....to me a prelude is kinda more on the side of luxury than performance...i would reccomend a civic si before a prelude but thats just my opinion...hope you enjoy the car you get anyway http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: Prelude or ITR? (brokentomorrow)

I would get the ITR...they are both beautiful cars though, each in their own way...all the ITR's up here in Jersey I've seen are all pretty clean too, and they're pretty quick...peformancewise, everybody is right, the ITR is the way to go...but I love the looks of the Lude. Too bad it's a bit on the heavy side though. I was actually looking at a Prelude and an Integra GSR...I was leaning towards the Lude but couldn't find a decent one anywhere that was used...the GSR I might get when my Aunt wants to sell hers and get another Acura.

4th gen VTEC. Sunroof, leather, sound deadening material, and Cruise control.

And still just as fast.

if i had the money i would get the ITR over a prelude.

Re: Prelude or ITR? (90SIvic)

I have driven both, and for an everyday car, I think the Lude is much better. Even though the ITR is faster, the Lude is easier to drive, and can be just as fast. Not to mention the Lude is much less likely to be stolen. I would suggest a 4th gen over the 5th since it is a better car overall IMO.

actually im pretty sure the prelude was the 2nd most stolen car is american...
Actually the ITR and The Pre<U>"idon'tknowwhyanyonebuysthesethings"</U>lude are not even in the top ten, the NUMBER 1 is the Honda Accord 2) Toyota Camry 3) Oldsmobile Cutlas 4) Chevy Full size pickup 5) Honda Civic 6) Toyota Corolla 7) Jeep Cherokee 8) Chevy Caprice 9) Ford Taurus 10) Chevy Cavilier nobody wants to steal your prelude so relax. http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emwink.gif

I say 5th Gen lude. The ITR out performs it by a little bit, not much. And you get SOOO much more with the Prelude. It's much more comfortable, you have more room, and my favorite, it's a lot rarer than an Integra. I say 5th Gen.

Not true. ITR just plain outperforms them. ITR's braking, handling, and straight line speed is all clearly superior.

lol you must own a 5th gen prelude with such comments. everything you say in there is incorrect. an ITR is much rarer than a prelude.

I've owned both...the ITR is more fun but not as practical...prelude insurance is cheaper...they are both fun though.

Hey stupid S#$@...read my post a little closer, I didn't say <U>ITR's</U> are more popular than the 5th Gen lude, I said the Integra in general is. And honestly, when you put them next to each other, I say the Prelude is the better bang for the buck hands down. The difference in performance is small. The Prelude has 5 more hp, the ITR weighs 500lbs less, the Prelude is more comfortable roomie, the ITR out handles the Lude by (maybe) .05g's on the skid pad (stock for stock) and it may have a faster 0-60 by 1/2 a sec. But the design, the sex appeal, and overall quality of the 5th Gen Lude makes it a better car imo. Jjust my $.02

ITR with out a doubt

Re: Prelude or ITR? (dumpdlude)

The R is a reasonably impressive FF performance car, but the lude is much nicer on a day to day basis - personally I like having cruise control... I guess it really depends on what you are going to do with the car.

fuck an integra..... i have one, (not an R, but an LS/VTEC). i don't like it, it's not the same.. yes, it's fast, but it doesn't have the same feel to it that a Prelude does. i want to sell it b/c it not a Prelude. i will always love the one of a kind, innovative Prelude

might want to recheck your facts for THIS YEAR 2002
Integras (year 99 and up)
are the most stolen, holding 21% of the top 10.

Prelude is 4th at 6%

http://www.cnn.com/2002/US/05/15/stolen.cars/index.html

Thank you drive through.

unfortunately your civic did not even make the top 10...
