please help me diagnose this leak!

Leak appeared about a week ago. white residue around intake and near firewall. car smells like celery.

can you eloborate a little? what i know about cars is from what i have fixed and from this website. is it problem that needs to be attended to immediately?

celery smells extremely fragrant.. are you sure it smells like celery? lol..

If it smells like fishy or sweet or something along those lines we could help you better.

more sweet. my girlfriend describes it as an oatmeal smell.

turn on the car until you find where the "white residue "is coming from and im sure we can help you with more detail depending where is coming from

when the leak is fresh the liquid is a yellow color

Is it coming from the bleeder valve or the 90* coolant hardline? Either way it is coolant coming out of the T-stat housing. Sweet scents from the engine bay or exhaust are almost always coolant if you want it fixed check the hoses for cracks and if its the housing replace it.
