Re: oil change (flashmang)
remove oil filler cap
jack it up from the front remove oil pan drain bolt remove oil filter replace oil filter with new honda filter replace oil drain pan washer (with new honda washer) and bolt fill oil, probably 4.5 quarts for your SI lower car on level ground put oil filler cap on again check oil level run motor for two minutes check oil level you want to use a good oil too. i reccommend mobil or mobil 1 _____________________- don't ream me if i left anything out guys, i'm trying to help the kid. just correct or add on if necessary. |
Re: oil change (typeS)
^^^I might add. Check the old oil filter for the o-ring. Sometimes that get stuck on the engine. Also, lube the o-ring on the new filter with some new oil.

Re: oil change (Too_Funny)
First things first
be careful, oil is hot after you've been driving your car. |
Re: oil change (girLuder)
another thing:
dont go under your car if its up on jacks, not safe man.. get a set of jack stands |
Re: oil change (zoopsta)
Yea dont just jack it up with a regular jack. Use jack stands or get some ramps and wheel chocks.

https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif Yes, our cars are too low to be messing around without stands! You can buy the Honda filter from the dealership and it comes with the new crush washer, just in case you were wondering. I'm lazy (and without my own garage while in the apt) so I just buy the filters from the dealership 3 or 4 at a time and have the oil changed at a quick-change place. |
Re: oil change (Lewdin' Incognito)
ok thanks for the help, i've been having some oil leaking from the oil filter i think it might be the o ring on it or something, so i'll try to get to the bottom of it all then
