why have 9:1 CR and put a 2mm HG ? should put a oem size gasket on it

because equidistant tubular manifolds are expensive to produce and i'd rather have an extra cushion for tuning on a restrictive manifold. I'd love to use the stock combustion chamber design but it's already in front of me. Not to mention that the deck will likely lose a fraction of a millimeter at the very least to clean it up a bit. This block was poorly taken care of when it was first built. I may or may not swap the internal parts out and sacrifice the sleeves to use the stock chamber design but that looks doubtful at the moment.

And don't use the term "should" unless if you are 100% sure of what you are talking about with a complete understanding. The heated debate between OEM HG and thicker HG's as a band-aid hasn't been won by either side yet. Both have their advantages and disadvantages and may or may not have their purposes behind them.

been in both situation
stock h22 with ARP head studs with a 3mm HG

and built bottom end with an oem gasket

both are great, just depends on your power goal

I would like to budget build the turbo setup, I've read a lot about the dsm turbo set up's and what not, however it seems like it's too weak to create any real significant power. I'm not trying to blow down the streets but maybe be at like 215hp?

Would a T25 turbo be sufficient? or What should I be using? I would like to keep the budget at about 1200$.
For those that have done something similar to this, could you please post your setup?

I already have too much money into this cash pit. I would be losing too much money by selling, so might as well have some fun with it and keep it.
first off do not use a dsm turbo on an h sieres u will way over spool the turbo and cause more problems than good

and of all the turbo h22's i have done we have only had a problem with one and that was because of a faulty wastegate that caused boost to spike to 7 psi when the car was tuned for 5psi

so boost it on a conservitave tune for 5-10psi and have fun

so you're saying that it's alright to boost a gt42 to 10 psi on the h-series motor ?

PSI dont mean shitzz !!! 10psi on a dsm turbo is one thing, but 10 psi on a gt42 is another creature. Stop with this BS.

Aim for horsepower goal not Psi number.

Just yesterday I put down 301whp and 242tq with 7psi with a bone stock h22a4 and a 3" piping all the way around to a thermal r&d 3" exhaust,with peakboost mani, t3/t04e 57trim .63a/r, and 650cc injectors on a DYNOmite dyno which converts to 354whp and 285tq on a dynojet

hondata s300 - tuan tuned

Fabbing my own exhaust,, Stainless Steel y'all. Welding/cutting will be done by me as well. Mig + Tri-Mix gas + SS wire. Stainless 44mm dumptube, welded at a 30 degree angle to the 3" turbo downpipe, 3" SS tubing used everywhere, expect intake piping. Tial 44mm wastegate deserves SS tubing, so does the 50-Trim turbo. Hell's yeah y'all, I'm excite. Pics will be posted.

its rebuilt, h23-VTEC. Internally stock with ARP rod bolts, and balance shaft delete. I've got a second h22 block that I will iron sleeve, that will be my track car. This current build is daily driven.

i've since switched to an open downpipe instead of the WS2. 3" exhaust w/ vibrant flat-black is almost done.

Also addressing the H22 urban legends here:
I have a 92 Prelude that has the H22 motor swap, and have been boosting it for almost 2 years now, no problems, and the motor was and still is COMPLETELY STOCK. I am running a Garret 60 trim t3/t4 journal bearing turbo, one thing people overlook, I have an oil restrictor on the oil inlet (too much oil can destroy your turbo, blow the seals). I am running a Spearco intercooler, Greddy Type RS blow off valve, Turbosmart 35mm wastegate with 10lb spring, AEM fuel rail, Hondata heatshield intake gasket, RC 750cc injectors, walbro 255lph fuel pump and Hondata S300. My car is tuned at 10psi and has been for almost 2 years now, Dynotuned using a PLX wideband to feed the S300 and last tune (6 months ago) turned 415whp on 10psi of boost, COMPLETELY STOCK INTERNALS!! As for my experience on ANY motor, a proper tune will determine how reliable your set up will be. I have a friend who also has a stock H22 with an Ebay t3/t4 turbo, but quality parts (blow off valve, wastegate, injectors, fuel pump) and he has been running his on 10psi as well for a year now, no problems. I believe his pulled 350whp on his last tune (different turbo compressors have different compressor maps, therefore = different results). My advice to anyone building a turbo set up on ANY SERIES OF ENGINE, if youre not looking to break speed records and want something that will be reliable and fun, take your time, spend the extra cash for a Hondata S300 (or any reputable management system), use a wastegate with the proper spring for the amount of boost you will be running (for example, if you want to run 10psi, use a wastegate with a 10psi spring, dont waste your money on a boost controller, use the Hondata or other management system for that, afterall, you paid for it, and have it tuned properly), and have fun!

Started my break-in last week.
Just got my 4th-Gen back on the road .. h23VTEC setup .. breaking it in so that the rings would seat and breaking in the clutch .. NA w/ p13 and oem injectors for the break-in ..
in about 2 weeks I will start swapping in my turbo, injectors, exhaust, intercooler, p72 ecu, Hondata s200, and taking it to tuner. Basemap from Xenocron is on its way.
Goal = 320whp
Turbo = Garrett t3/to4e "50 Trim" .. 0.60 compressor, 0.63 turbine

I'll let you'all know the results, post the dyno sheet, and many pictures to come. My first turbo build, and everything is going smooth so far.

Ive been working my project for about 8 months. Motor build-sleeved block 9:1 comp, rods, port polish, titanium valves springs. standard everything for build. Stock cams. running turbonetics 6061 t3 turbo turbonetics wastegate (14lb spring) 3in DP and exhaust. hondata s300. my first tune was late last year sept or so. on 14 lbs hit 318whp. brought car home drove for a few weeks and low oil pressure light started flashing. only at idle, after flashing for a while turned solid at idle and flashing while driving. i have replaced sending unit, dropped the pan to check the sump, cant seem to figure out why i have low oil pressure. idle at 800rmp oil pressure is below 10psi, 2k rpm oil pressure jmps to 50-60psi. Any ideas? im deployed in iraq currently and the car is parked. would like to have an idea on a fix before i get home. please help
