any comments on the performance, spool time, and drivability of an 2.4L H23 with a T3/60-1 0.83 A/R.... specifically, the stage III vs. stage V wheel.

I agree with toyzbus, I own a turbocharged prelude and from what I've seen on almost any board and personally owning one would not boost more than 7 PSI on a stock H22 to be safe, without incredible tuning and a EMS 12 PSI will not be logical to boost daily and not worry about blowing up. From what I've seen many have problems with ring lands etc with only 8 or 9 psi. Please explain why you don't think we are correct? I'm trying to help him out, because if he doesn't have the money for a rebuild why pretend it's ok to run 12 psi on a stock h22 block safely....

because it is all about tuning, tuning, tuning!!!!!!!!! and that is how i plan to achieve high boost on stock internals, just like firedrake.....go to solid-technology.com and look at project cars---brians prelude---see for yourself.

that $7501 is a little short for a total, I know that the sleeves are 850 for regular 89mm, plus shipping ect.

Those are prices that I can get.. I wasn't asking for prices, I was asking if anything is missing from the setup.. I could even get cheaper prices.

It's a local shop around here that doesn't work outta state.. they don't even use the internet for other than advertising on local forums for Arizona. They might deal with you if it was a big purchase order but they try to stay local only.

sound nice but i think that shop is rippin you off. You can get a brand new t3/60-1 for 650 at cheapturbos.com, and what kinda intercooler u running that cost $1000??? I could run a liquid-to-air with heat exchanger and a resivoir for less then that. Did u try lookin on ebay for intercoolers? Look up boostcoolers on ebay and he'll have some real nice spearco coolers for about half the price of the one your gettin.

i have a 2000 lude with a greddy turbo kit for the 97-99 and i guess i am running into some conflicts with the obd 2.0 and my ecu. currently i am running a e-manage system, with ignition harness and i should also shamefully have to add that its an auto (SS) and after dynoing without the cat i get a 195 with about 6-7 of boast. the check engine light is on even with the missing link and the start-up is horrindous. but the idle is decent. any ideas or suggestions?

flip1199: not all prices are one's I've checked into.. he deals mainly in OEM honda parts.. I havent asked him about many aftermarket stuff.. some of those prices are guess's as to how much I will spend and I'd rather over estimate then under estimate.

skhan051: I have the Greddy kit on my 1997 Honda prelude and it works perfect!

My question is:

1. Why are you using the e-manage? If you plan on running 7 psi, just use the greddy blue box that came with the kit. I have been running the blue box for 3 mths with no problems what so ever.

2. Did you notice any power gains after removing your cat with the turbo? The check engine light could be on because you removed your cat.

3. The Greddy cast down pipe is pretty shitty and is a HUGE restriction on the H22. Did you get a custom built 2.5 inch downpipe? I know BOOSTED97Lude has one for his car but he hasn't posted any pics of it yet. I would really like to see it is extremely tight there.

Don't expect to get HUGE WHP with the Greddy kit unless you start modifying your car more.

how did your 2k lude work with the Greddy Turbo? I had to get an e-manage and all this other fuel crap and yes change that downpipe without a cat alone adds 15 horses trust me i ran in on dyno

ok,, all of u turbo smart people,, help please. i have an H23a and am gonna do the H23 Vtec conversion. one guy on the H23 Vtec page said the compression lowered from the stock to like 9.3-1,, so on that compressoin what would be my parts list to run somewhere in the neighborhood of 7psi to 11psi? and where did u get that type 24 (UN BOOSTED) FMIC? oh and on the parts list-- specify sizes and make it minimums cause this will be a daily driver. thanks alot

yes the compression will be lower because the h22 head has a lager combustion area with larger vavles

Greyout: I can't make any comments on the stage 5 vs stage 3 wheel, but I can say that a t3/60-1 with the stage 3 wheel will probably be the turbo you're looking for. Also, did you mean .82 a/r not .83? On a 9:1 H22, it starts spooling around 3500 and makes 15psi-ish by 4500 or so. It's laggy compared to like a t04e with a smaller a/r, but if you wanna be able to make an efficient 18psi you'll need the 60-1.....

97luder: The blue box IS the e-manage. It's the piggyback that Greddy includes with their kits.

skhan0501: Has the car been tuned at all or did you just bolt everything on? Even the little greddy box has a small amount of tuning capability via the little *****.....

Firedrake: The e-manage is completely different from the blue box. The blue box that came with my greddy kit does not allow for any tuning whatsoever.
