Default Stock H22 intake manifold idea

so I was sitting here playing with my stock IM cause i just installed a skunk2 on my motor with has nothing other then hytech reps, ecu and velocity stack and 2.5inch all the way out exhaust, based on feel high end its great, but i lost alot of low end torque and throttle response its not great, now im sitting here looking at the stock manifold and I know alot of ppl remove the butterfly valves from the plate, but has anyone ever tried just removing the plate completely? mean you would decrease the air volume in the chamber, but then the manifold looks more towards the likes of the euro r, I know, i said "looks",

im actually goin to try this as I have a h22 in a 3rdgen so my manifold is easy to remove. I know nothing about intake manifolds so I thought putting this out there to see what you guys think

Use the Search feature. The topic of removing the butterfly plate is well documented.

Getting rid of the butterfly plate will give you the same feeling you have with the S2, better top end with sacrifices down low.

I'm not saying they will produce the same graph, but the overall characteristics would be similar unless I am terribly misinformed.

Haha, too true. Am I incorrect in assuming that both will generally lose low-end torque but make gains in the upper rpm range compared to stock?

It will have gains across the entire RPM range if you tune it. Not sure about running on the stock ECU

Or, you can get a Blacktrax Plenum spacer(IABs deleted) to replace your stock IAB spacer. Thats what I'm running right now.
