My 1/4 mile time

My 1/4 mile time
Welp, i went to my local drag strip saturday night and raced my lude. Best time was a 15.83. I know i can do better, the car wasnt grabbing traction very good at all, the track was really slick. I figured it wasnt bad for racing my first time, although my reaction time diffently needs some improvement. Btw my lude is completly stock h22a with an intake and cat-back. I didnt even gut my trunk, my spare tire was still in there lol.

that is really bad, I am running 14.2's with i/h/e and pulleys with a vafc2 on cooper tires on stock 15's, i do have more mods, but they arent going to affect That much.

x3.... or a time slip would work also.....14.2 is pretty low for basic boltons

Your 60 Ft is your problem. Work on launching your car and your time will increase significantly. BTW, What did you trap at? 90.20?

i/h/e pulley and the vafc can do a hell of a lot if you tune that. the vafc can give you a whooping 8 WHP when added with the i/h/e and pulleys. Its posted on absolute prelude. They tuned a lude with the vafc with the other mods on it and at one point they cranked out over 30hp where the vtec cross over lost that much power. 14.2 is believeable if it was tuned. If you guys cant get that learn to shift noobs.

Re: My 1/4 mile time (Prudz_lude)
^^^+1. Those are decent mods when tuned well and driven well. Launching in FWD cars is tough to get down, so practice a bit and learn how to get a better 60ft. I also see a lot of people at the track shifting really slow. You can lose a lot of time shifting slowly.

2 things. 1st thats a terrible 60 foot. Get it down to 2.2 or 2.3 with practice.
2nd. Your trap speed indicates that you have at least a low 15 possibly high 14 second car. So its not the car its the driver. practice my friend practice

Best way to see how you did is find someone with a fast stock car and see what they get, then see what they should be getting. I ran a 16 last time I went, but I found a guy with an S2000 who couldn't beat 15.8, and a guy with an I/E 5th gen who only made 16.5

Re: (InvaderTrax)
with an AEM short ram, my best time was 15.69. i get horrible wheel hop, so my best 60' is always 2.4. if i can drop that, i should get like 15.3. header, exhaust and suspension components here i come.

I have basic bolt-ons tuned w/ a vafc.....it should not be very difficult to under or around a 14.5 for ne one. I received better times than this guy with i/h/e with an h23. Also, you might want to put in mind the heat....cars run much different when its as hot as it has been getting around the nation.....But as far as posting a time slip, I see no reason to have to prove anything to ne one unless you are more interested in seeing the 60ft....1/8th ect..

What's the elevation at your track?
Definately practice launching.
One of the best mods to drop your time and 60' is to get a set of bfg drag radials.
I went from 15.0-14.9 to 14.6's with just dr's.

Re: My 1/4 mile time (SKDRCR)
My elevation here is around 1000 foot i think. I know i need to work on my launch, and i know i can do better cause my lude wouldnt grab traction for half of first gear, so i know if it can grab right away i could get a low 15. There were two s2000 out there, all show and no go. Both running right around a 15.4.

he has a 4th gen. He has a JDM swap. He could be a good driver. You dont know him. Get off his nuts.
guy i know used to have a 4th gen with basic bolt ons and ran a 13.7 on drag radials. 14.2 isnt out of the question.
to the OP. Find a deserted road and a friend of your who launches better than you. Go out and practice with him. Ask him for tips and apply it to your driving.
