Idle possessed by SATAN!
I recently did the coolant bypass mod on my 93 vtec prelude, made a fast idle thermo valve block off plate, and the idle didn't surge afterwards, it simply hung a little low. So I reconnected everything and cleaned out the idle air control valve w/ some electric parts cleaner, and it idled exactly the same as it did w/ that crap disconnected. WTF. So I thought it may be the throttle body gasket, as it slipt in a few places, and either stuck to the im or tb. The map sensor pulls its pressure reading from directly between the two, so I thought that me be it. Replaced the gasket and no dice. I pulled the im and cleaned the crap out of it entirely and resprayed the iac valve and still no luck. My idle was perfect before this stupid move of mine. Any ideas?

im not an expert in this matter, but first and formost, i would put it back the way it was and reset the ecu becasue it could be trying to compinsate for the changes you made. if you put it back to stock, and reset the ecu and are still having problems you may have damaged something in the process

All I did was take the TB off.. Then unscrew the thermo valve off the bottom, and filled it w/ "great stuff" expanding foam, now no air gets around it, let it dry for an hour and put it back on, now it idles great
