It's possible, especially with modern stuff like methanol injection to reduce detonation and all that. I would go a little bigger than u need to on the turbo but not too big

If it's a street car, what kind of driving are you looking for? Is fuel economy important, are you clear of your emissions regulations, do you need an earlier powerband, how much are you looking to spend?

If fuel economy is important, you probably want to stay out of boost for cruising speeds and want the meat of your powerband probably after 3500-4000RPM or so.

If you're looking to go twisties, roadrace, or anything involving quick turns, you probably want a turbo that provides a flatter torque curve up top. If you want to bully people on the highway/interstate, you probably want something that carries through to your desired rev limit.

what I'm saying is that you should find the characteristics of your vision, and find the right turbo to suit those characteristics instead of getting the shotgun approach on honda-tech. It sounds to me like you want something with high peak and late power, and it also sounds like you don't want to switch turbos or go through rebuilds. So my suggestion if your goal is in the 500's would be the SC61(look through the different ones and find the one you like.) or if you want to achieve much larger numbers, the PT6776S like the one I have will do the job well and is cheap to rebuild on the off-chance the journal bearing fails.

good luck with the search, and remember to get what YOU want.

dont get a gt40 to make 500whp your gona lag just get a gt35r or a t67 and you should be fine and on pump gas you can make that power but if you have and upgraded fuel pump i suggest a 255 fuel pump... you can make 550whp+ or maybe 600whp on race gas.
