try asking at preludeonline.com they talked a lot about that. if it's really cold where you are, then dont do it. if you know where the lines are connected, then just take lines 1 2 and 3 4 then switch them so they look like 1 3 and 2 4. i know that was really confusing, preludeonline has pictures to show you how

If you block off the fast idle thermo valve you will not have a cold start problem. I have done the coolant bypass along with blocking the fitv and have trouble free starting and idling even at temps as low as 30 degrees F.

You are right, the IAC would compensate the idle for warm up, so everything would be the same, just make sure to seal it air tight

EDIT: IM me if you want an article or help with this

I've always heard tales of fluxuating idle when you do this.
That, and it won't really give you any hp...

Just a thought to keep in mind.

I'm with you.
BUT if you get a Hondata intake manifold gasket and remove all the coolant lines from the IM as well as the TB it will make a lil more power (please be realistic )

EDIT: changed Head gasket for intake manifold gasket

If you think about how this mod works.....it does work. If you have ever felt your IM after racing down the 1320 or takinga drive to the store, its BLAZING hot, just as hot as your motor basically. With this mod, the IM does not get hot at all. After driving you can rest your hand on it without burning yourself. Hot air = bad air. If the IM is hot, it will heat up the air passing through it somewhat.

Todd, in your case for the Gumball, it would help you quite a bit because you will be at high rpm's for long periods of time. The mod cools the IM even more when at high rpm's. If you are sitting at idle, this mod will not help much at all.

Yes, the idle will fluctuate IF you do not block off the fast idle thermo valve. Block it off and everything is fine.

BUT if you get a Hondata head gasket and remove all the coolant lines from the IM as well as the TB it will make a lil more power (please be realistic )
Hondata intake manifold gasket, not head gasket.

By itself I doubt the coolant bypass will give you any measureable gain in power. However, complimenting the Hondata intake manifold gasket with the coolant bypass will.

I'll go along with this.

The IM gets hot because it's attached to the head... which gets hot.

Now... as far as the Gumball, I have things worked out,

Not sure what you just said buddy, but if you have a loopy idle then you have air coming in, did you make the new gasket? did you closed the FIV whole air tight?

but how do you block the fast idle control.........
You remove the fast idle thermo valve assembly from the throttle body and then reinstall it with a cardboard gasket in between it and the throttle body. You can use a ceral box to make the gasket.
