Horn goes on when reconnect the battery??? Why is this happening???

I just reconnected my battery after trying to reset my ecu and after I install the second cable the horn goes. Im guessing this is part of the factory alarm to prevent people from disconnecting the battery to disable the alarm and then reconnect it or something like that. How do I fix this problem? https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emdgust.gif

turn the key in the door and the ignition after hooking up the cable to the battery.. This is if its a factory alarm.

haha that sucks.....

was it working right when you disconnected the battery?

there's a switch under the steering wheel somewhere, turn it the other way and it should work.

It was working fine until I tried to reconnect the battery. This is a pretty crappy alarm system setup. I cant even open my own door with the key. I have to use the remote otherwise the alarm will go off. I originally took off the battery cables hoping that it would reset the ECU so I can my stock radio again since I got locked out of it with the stupid code.

Ill Have to give that a try

its the alarm. happened to my moms old car. i took the fuse out b/c i didnt know it even had an alarm.

use teh remote if you have it
also it's not 100% that there will be a switch under your dash.
could be a button or not even be there at all
plus it could be set so you have to push it a preset number of time before it goes off.
it all depends on the alarm
if none of that works there "should" be a red wire attached to the bug white wire on your ignition switch.
at last chance cut that wire off and tape both ends off.
the red wire may or may not be red but if you cut the wire on the white one it "should" make the alarm stop. it won't work at all but the horn will stop

Did you hit a ground cable or something?

It is your alarm, as everybody has said. Don't cut any wires or try to fix anything. you want this to happen. Hondas are the most stolen cars...they're so easy to swap parts with. Just keep your remote handy to cut the alarm off.
