Help plz

H22, prelude. No spark no start. Have put in 2 new distributors, and new coil. I have no power or signal to yellow and green wire that goes to a21 pin at ecu. What power or signal should I have and is this the cause of no spark?????

96 honda prelude, h22, vtech, p28 ecu, dyno tuned. Ran 3 races, old distributor cap got oil in it. Replaced distributor, ran a couple of days and died. Wouldn start. Put another distributor in it and new coil still won't start. I have power to distributor and coil. This will take a very intelligent honda tech to figure it out.im about out of ideas

pin a21 is the signal wire to the ignition control module, aka the igniter. You would need an oscilloscope to test the signal on this wire.

First thing to do is check for trouble codes. To do this, turn the ignition on and stick a paperclip in the service check connector to jump the two terminals together. This should be located behind the center console on the passenger side iirc. It will be a two-wire plug that isn't connected to anything, and will be blue or green. If you can't find it, you can find pin d4 on the ecu, and strip a little insulation off the wire and connect it to ground. This will make the check engine light flash out the trouble codes. The codes tell all.

So you didn't think things through didn't you... No engine management and no ways to see whats going on there electrically. Good job

Re: Help plz

It hasp28 chipped, dyno tuned. Has 3 races, a 1st place and 2 2nds.

Re: Help plz

Chipped ecu is no engine management. Chipped ecu is just the cheapest way to get your engine running.

Proper engine management is for example hondata which allows you to control everything with laptop

Re: Help plz

People dont really feel like helping you much when we have to dig every bit of info out ourselves from you...

If it has that feature check error codes from there then with laptop.

Re: Help plz

You NEED to have a way to retrieve trouble codes in order to diagnose anything. If you have neptune, you should be able to retrieve the codes through the software. You should also be able to monitor live data through the software, which will aid in diagnosing things.
Also though, for ease of use, wire up a small LED somewhere as a check engine light. Positive side (anode, the long terminal) to pin A13 on the ecu. Negative side (cathode, the shorter terminal) to chassis ground. This way you can ground pin D4 (manually, or by wiring in a toggle switch) and the LED will blink out the trouble codes.

Re: Help plz

Ok after 3 distributor, 2 colis, have power to distributor and coil. Have voltage from ecu to distributor signal. Still lost......

We/I already told you what you need to do. And you're not doing it.

There's nothing elite about it. You're simply ignoring our advice and acting like nobody is giving you the right answer.
