H23A Vtec blue top turbo build
I'm trying a new route with the project car. I sold my turbod 87 foxbody and now I have a 1998 prelude type sh swapped with a H23AVtec, it has a euro R transmission, and a stage 2 clutch(dont know brand). I want to turbo it and be around 300-350 HP and still be mostly reliable. I'm skeptical of the Ebay turbo kits but I dont want a turbo kit that's gonna hurt the wallet. Any suggestions on parts, turbo kits, or anything to help me reach the goal?

Stock bottom end H23A has short, dinky little rods that don't like boost. They make too much torque for their own good in a boosted application. 300whp would be what I would consider the safe upper limit for a stock bottom end while retaining some reliability. 350+ is gonna be a gamble every time you put your foot down on the pedal.
Sounds like the best route for you will be to piece together a custom kit for yourself. Check out the classifieds on this site or your local craigslist for deals. You will need turbo, manifold, exhaust, intercooler and piping, upgraded fuel injectors & pump, ECU, a new clutch more than likely, etc. The engine is externally identical to an H22 so H22 turbo manifolds, etc will all fit. |

So what your saying is I can throw a h22 turbo kit on my h23a?
