H23a on the bottle

Anybody spray a h23a w/ stock internals?
What setup would work best without internals?
A 50 shot Dry system?
Zex, NX, NOS, Venom?

I'm trying to get the best bang for my buck right now since I am still paying the car off.
The car's only got 37k on it and want to keep it as reliable as possible.

Thanks peoples!!!

I'm not a NOS pro, so I'll leave that to the others....but....

Where the hell did you find a 4gen Prelude with 37k on it!?!?!?

Re: H23a on the bottle (4bidden)

My friends uncle, He's a lawyer who only drove the car in the summer.
I bought it w/ all records including oil changes, and car wash/portering jobs.
It had 35k on it when I bought it and it's a '94
He also included a very nice professionally installed stereo. (I pulled the box out)

Paid a little more than blue book but I think It's worth it
I've just always liked the lines of a 4g And this is my fifth Honda.
Okay, I'm rambling now.

Lates.

Re: H23a on the bottle (BAZ)

Go with Zex if you want the easient install, but the best nitrous kits seem to be NOS and NX. I would start out at a 50 shot, and go from there.

i say get a nx wet kit. it has shown the best gains so far and there are some people who could walk u threw the install. you may wanna start off with a 50 shot and all you will need is one step colder plugs. before you plan on doing anything though i would run a compression test. hope that helps.

Thanks for the advice man.
Have you or anybody else sprayed w/out internals?
What's the reliability factor (only 37k on the car)

you think ts safe to run w/o internals?

ludedudesi 03-09-2003 01:59 PM

Re: H23a on the bottle (BAZ)

its definately safe as long as you stay within reason. on stock internals i wouldnt go over an 80 shot but people have done it. im sure 100 would work with some fine tuning but since your a noob to it just start with a 50 hsot.

Re: H23a on the bottle (ludedudesi)

what are pros and cons of using wet/dry system?
Some people tell me that all hondas should run dry systems, others insist on wet
Whats the dilly yo?

ludedudesi 03-09-2003 04:17 PM

Re: H23a on the bottle (BAZ)

a dry system taps into your intake i believe and just sprays nitrous. people say if you go higher than a 50 shot with a dry kit your #1 cylinder will go because of the uneven didstribution of fuel. a wet kit distributes fuel and nitrous together so you will have even distribution in all cylinders.

Re: H23a on the bottle (jz)

I have a 95' with some boltons and a 60hp shot dry NOS kit . I have had it on for over 3 years now. I also install kits on hondas. The dry kit is the one to use. Nos and Zex are some of the nicer kits out there. I have done a few wet kits and they seem to do more damage then good. Even if u do some internals later u can always up the kit. If u really want to get seriuos then u can do a big dry kit with 4 fogers , 1 in each intake runner and bigger injectors. but the smallest shot u can do there is 100hp and its a big shot but man its a rush.
But for now i would do a single fogger dry kit and yea u will prolly need to look into a cluch . Good luck and have fun .

your h23 with the squeeze can handle a good 75-100 shot no problem, just make sure, your timing is retarded 2 degrees and you are running a 1-2 degree colder plug, I also would suggest a fuel pressure reguater and air-fuel gauge, you run to lean kaboom

Go wet. It makes tuning alot easier and supposedly puts down more power.

Yeah, NX is the way to go......the 35 shot is good to learn to drive on too.....gave me good practice and puts down good power.....ill post a dyno with a 35 if you want......

Dood you guys Rawk!!!!
Thanks so much for all your responses.
I decided I'm definately going to spray, I'm just torn between the wet or dry setups now.
Reliability is priority #1.

No you aren't. You're getting a wet setup. What part of Mill are you from?

Re: H23a on the bottle (laughinxxx)

Yes, go with the wet setup!

When I was running my B16A and B20 setup in my CRX, I was using the NX basic nitrous setup. It's a great setup and easy to use, as long as you keep your ride tuned you shouldn't have any problems up to the 50 shot level! I ran the 35 and 50 shots with no problems, even the 75 for a while on STOCK internals, until my headgasket blew one time; but that was MY OWN fault. I'm not really sure if that has anything to do with stock internals, but I had a great time with it until I went turbo. You will too!

Later!!!

Okay, so wet is the way to go.
I live in the Brookfield/Elm grove area.
You from Milwaukee too?

Madison.
If you need some help I might be able to give you a hand. I've got some cousins and aunts that I should visit in Mill.

Got to pick up a setup first, but you will definately be the first person I'll ask if i have any more questions. Oh yeah, do you know Kyler? He lives in madison too (white EF sedan w/zc)
He mentioned a 'lude in madison that was running some crazy setup.

Re: H23a on the bottle (BAZ)

I don't remember meeting anyone with a ZC in Madison. I've popped my hood a couple times at the races and meets though, so he might be talking about my bitch.
