Default h23 wear and tear

2 questions...(1) How would 165k miles on an h23 affect 1/4 mile times? Under normal wear and tear conditions, how much does a motor slow down when it gets up above the 150k miles area if it hasnt been modified or rebuilt? Also, what is about the upper limit as far as safe rpms to use in every day driving habits? For example, if youre accelerating out of a parking lot or some such and you need to catch up with traffic, is it all that bad to rev the engine up to 5500 or 6 grand on a regular basis? I hear the 23's are more prone to problems under these conditions... any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

my motor had 160k on it, at that point it had bad rings, bad valve seals, bent valves, and a blow head gasket. maybe that will help some.

edit:i'm pretty sure the people i bought my car from didn't properly maintain it.

I got 170k miles on my h23 and it runs strong!! People dont believe I have 170k miles on it. I have bad valve seals and it smokes out the exhaust sometimes

But I rev it up everyday. Just continue up on the maintaince and use common sense.
