Re: (iakona)
the only con from getting a header like this is that you wallet take a little dent !! the rest is all . The reason that it somethimes takes a while to get these is that they are in high demand and are custom made, but well worth the wait !!
just wait, you wont regret it !!

well dave just had a buyer back out at the last minute and had to fill the tenth spot. however, i got his email yesterday and overnighted the check today. i spoke with him earlier on the phone and he said it should be about 4-6 weeks before we receive the header.
once i receive my header i plan on doing a comparison write up for h-t (and dave if he wishes to use it). I will get a baseline dyno/ qtr mile time before the install. Then dyno after the install and possibly adjust my vafc settings for the new header. i will also take it out to the track and get the new qtr mile time.

GREAT..thx for the feedback guys...i actually was running with the assumption that the first 10 header was already in production..but i guess i was wrong.
Don't get me wrong...i'm looking forward to the numbers that it will produce even for the price, but i'm just eager as to know when my name will be selected for the next prduction phase.
Dave...please keep us informed on what the next list will be...and if at all possible, can you tell me when i will be selected so that i don;t use this $$$
thx

SMSP header for H23? for the price of an SMSP header, you can buy an H22 longblock.
also - I'm interested to see if anyone is going to compare the SMSP header to the prospeed header.

why would you ever go NA with an H23 anyway?

i searched for prospeed header and pulled up this topic.
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=620523 ,
if theres another one let me know, but from what i see this header produced about 18hp on a modified jdm h22. 18whp is great for a header but the sms made roughly 20-30 whp on a stock usdm h22. the uprgrade valvetrain and the higher compression of the jdm h22 IMO added to the power production of the prospeed header. The lower price definetly factors in but i don't see this header being comprable to the sms, if the sms makes anywhere near 30 whp.

so what you are saying is that the smsp header has no benefit
for FI applications

huh, i think you mis-read that one. he said "why would you go NA with an H23" not a H22.

Re: (93preludevtec)
No, I didn't misread it,
what i was trying to imply was this,
say i had a turbo h23, or a NA-h23vtec and i wanted an smsp header,
they wouldn't have it for me

You would be using a turbo manifold with a turbo, not a conventional header.

An H23 VTEC is NOT an H23. You should be more clear.

Re: (satan_srv)
Prospeed failed to answer any technical questions asked about their header design. You will note a post in the thread that states that you have to tune the car to get any power out of the Prospeed header.
All in all to gain the power that SMS provides, the guy with the Prospeed header spent more than twice the money in parts for a little more power and not nearly as smooth gains.
