Re: H22A do I need the vtec pressure switch? and other questions
I am not running a oil PSI sensor on my swap. H22a motor, Rywire harness, Hondata S300 on a chipped P28 so I can simply turn it off.
Not sure if jdm ecus have it or not. I want to lean towards yes they do, but I am not 100%. My jdm swap came with a vtec solenoid and had the pressure switch. if you need one, PM me and I will sell it to you. The one from my swap is just sitting in my tool box.

Yes, it has a pressure switch. Its there in the event your engine doesn't build enough oil pressure. You can turn it off in aftermarket software but you will get a cel with a stock computer.

Some OBD2 H22/H23 Motors maybe even F20B don't have vtec pressure switches.
However what is there instead is a simple bolt. The Vtec solenoids are the same with or without. Just has a bolt with an O ring in it. If needing a Pressure Switch simply take the bolt out and put a pressure switch sensor
Rywire told me this long ago, I didn't have a pressure switch on motor and he did some wiring to by pass it I do believe. Yes tuning software dont need it.
OBD1 P13 should have it and require it.

I believe it's the obd2 h22a's that don't have the vtec pressure switches. You can get them from a vtec accord at the junkyard.

Have you read the FAQs? There are a few threads in there on h23-h22 swaps, as well as how to wire vtec.
The tranny and axles are identical, aside from gear ratios or lsd models, so you don't need to worry about that.

you can bypass the switch but splicing the pressure switch and the vtec solenoid switch together. The only negative is; if your cars oil pressure is low, you will still engage vtec.

its eassy, your car harnesz in no vtec, Te vtec solenoid wire to Pin A4 on the ecu computer, Also if you are using A Real p13 JDM you dont need the Vtec oil pressure switch, but if you are using a USDM p13, you need to wire to Pin D6 on ecu. and the black wire just grounded, any more questions just post in here
